    Here's a new one for 1400 euros.

I've bought parts from them and have always been happy.

Would that it were that simple - I should have pictures coming of what was done, total cost was about 2K, but this was one of the parts that was used, but other bits were fabricated also. Will post if I get them. The 15K number was for the whole shebang. Housing internals etc etc - and for one that had clearly been in a yellow box for 20 years!

2K doesn't sound too bad all in and with new internal parts will probably work better.

    Dan:

Just for your clarification, and that of any other GTO owner, Claudio from Eurospares confirms that all he has is one of the small components within the assembly, specifically a wastegate membrane at a cost of 149.00 GBP. He does not have all of the key components, nor the diaphragm that was the issue with yours, and which is usually the issue.

Also, as an aside, I have done tens of thousands of dollars worth of business with Eurospares. Would I do business with them again? Yes, BUT I always make sure I see multiple detailed close-up images of the component or part they are about to send me, because often there has been a, shall we say, 'miscommunication', and the part that has arrived hasn't been exactly the right thing. But they do try and mean well and have a lot of the things we need.

It goes without saying though that just because something is posted up on their website doesn't mean they have it!

Please trace the source who made your item so I can share with any of the other GTO owners with similar issues...

Do you think you should credit the pictures Tony?

    Hello all,

I'm almost 100% sure that it was Toni Auto - Maranello... Just around factory corner!!!

He is the only man around who can redone the wastegates of our Ferrari... 208 GTS/B turbo, F40, 288 GTO... sticked diaphragm! A common problem on every Ferrari turbo with no use.
So use your Ferrari and if by chance you notice that you have extra power arriving from "nowhere", pay attention because you might have a sticky rusty wastegate diaphragm.
Next thing to happen?? A piston out of your block!!!

    Regards,

Could well be - I don't have confirmation. Yes on stickiness, blame the owners since 1985 until I bought it in '07. Ralph should have driven it more :)

I was notified of the existence of this car by Marcel Massini, obviously a red car painted white (the only white one Im aware of) and extensively refurbished...

Mike: not only should he give proper crediting (I note that he has now) but he ought to know better than to post a 288 GTO in this thread without supplying the car's chassis number! How rude.
