With the market correcting itself after the inflated, greed-and-ponzi-driven phantom economy we've had for the last few years, there looks to be some real bargains out there. GE has plummetted to the $7 mark and with CEO Jeff Immelt under SEC investigation for insider trading after dumping and reacquiring more than 50,000 shares at half the price, it could go even lower. Even if the conglomerate were to go bankrupt, its assets would be worth more than the current stock price demonstrates. What do you guys think of buying in soon? The stock is completely oversold.

GE stock trend for the last 12 months: http://chart.bigcharts.com/custom/cnnmoney2/profile-chart.img?pg=qu&symb=GE&sid=2148&time=1yr&uf=8192&type=256&ClientID=44711&mocktick=1&symbtype=0&country=US&style=2108&size=1&rand=7021

What other stocks have you guys been considering in the current market climate? Anyone else considering GE?

Tobias, there's plenty of discussion of GE and other stocks up in the Biz section.

A 15 dollar "Silver subscription" will fix that, it's $15 for a whole year.

I am a cheap bastard and I did the silver subscription, primarily to list my car on F-Ads. Trust me, well worth it. If you think the chat is good in the open forums, go to subscribed - you'll have a blast.

Wont buy a thing until the irrational sellers are out. Whenever that is I have no idea.

Saw GM today. Took a 22% hit yesterday and is down to about $1.25. Who would have ever thought they could own 10,000 shares of GM for $12,500? Do you think they will recover enough to have a viable stock in the near future or will they go on under as they keep saying?

I thought about buying about a 100 shares just to say I had some but I am so cheap I do not want to take a chance losing my $125.
