The surprise driver for the Paul Ricard test taking place was released. Here's the quote .... Courage-Oreca for the greatest pleasure of Hugues de Chaunac: “It is an honor to be able to make it possible Bruno to roll in a new discipline. It is a surprise of last minute, one crowned beautiful surprise! Very finalized itself at the last time: I was in London still a few hours ago. I am delighted that Bruno agreed to join us for this test. His qualities of pilot are known; last year, he was the potential winner of the GP2. It is thus a good opportunity for the TEAM ORECA-Matmut of counting a talented pilot moreover in his rows. It is an important test in the optics of the 24 Hours of Mans, even if no decision is taken. Parallel to its main aim to run in F1, it will be able to discover the piloting of a prototype and let us be very happy we. ” * * * * * strangely enough, when this "surprise driver" was discussed elsewhere, the name guessing began...after reading the articles on crash.net and autosport on how disappointed he was that Ross didn't sign him with BrawnGP, reading how he changed his name from his mother's to that of his uncle and the photo of him in the article showing his displeasure...he was my second guess...first was Mika but remembered he drove a prototype - the Audi R8. Very Interesting. Carol
That is indeed interesting. Nice to see him back in a racecar so soon after he was told no by Brawn / Honda.
Glad he's bounced back. Although in Brawn's spot I would've made the same choice. The experience was too valuable to lose with a ban on in season testing. Bruno can shine in this seat. Couldn't see him doing that with Brawn.
