It shouldn't be pricier than California, they need an entry level car with mid engine, a real sports car, a real Ferrari.
Do you think they want their most selling car, if its the cheapest (seen around and talked about) to be that humongous California with less sporting values even than 360?
I don't think it will be a vise move.

How many owners go straight out and buy an aftermarket exhaust when they buy a 360 or 430? How many threads on this board talk about which aftermarket exhaust to buy, what it sounds like, what it looks like, how much it costs, etc?

    Yes, they are serious.

That's a good point actually, I'd take the CS over a F430 anyday of the week.

Dont think Prius when you think hybrid.

Have you ridden in a Tesla ? STUNNING accelleration. Max torque at zero revs.

Imagine designing a system with a low rev torque boost from electric power (light weight ultra caps for a few second boost perhaps)and a light weight engine for the higher revs.

    Great engineering possibilities

Electric car technology has huge potentials for all types of vehicles. It is still in it's early stage of development. With progress it very well could be the future.

    Bingo.

Welcome to the plateau of performance. Cars can only go so fast before it becomes pointless and/or unsafe. The next step in exotic cars it to improve fuel economy, emissions, and better equipping them with creature comforts.

I don't need a faster Ferrari. I need a Ferrari that has Scuderia performance, but gets 100 mpg, internet, cushy seats, better safety, AWD, electrochromatic windows all around, hardtop convertible that looks the same as the coupe, and has trunk space. Call it what you will, but I think we can all agree that's where all cars are going. And rightfully so.

Presumably this is because you're now so disconnected from the driving experience there's nothing else to do whilst 'driving' !

I think this is reasonable, think about it, if the "basic" Ferraris are doing 0-60 in the low 4 second range, how much faster can you go before every car in the range is as fast as possible? Hell 0-60 in 5 seconds is fast enough for a street car, do we really need cars going faster than 4? 3? Seconds on the street? I think sports cars should bring back the feel they lost in the mid-90's and bring back that classic car feel. Most modern cars do everything so well that these days the difference between a New Mercedes E class and some top of the range Honda is the Badge. Getting a car to its lowest 0-60 time isn't everything, the performance of modern Ferraris is already amazing, how many people here can honestly complain about the engine in their 430? How many can actually use it to its potential? If the next car (450) has the same 430 engine but a better feel all-around I am all for it.

The 0-60 war just cannot continue. Companies have to deliver on other aspects of their vehicles. The F450 is not going to compete with Carrera GTs and Bugatti Veyrons anyway. Honestly, I don't need a car that can do 0-60 in under 4 seconds. I'm sure I can't feel the difference beyond that point, anyway. Everyone can make a speed machine these days, with virtually 1/10th of what a Ferrari costs. We now have cars that can do 0-60 in under what, 2 seconds? That's kinda ridiculous. It made sense to compete on this in the 60's, but times have changed. The cars are that fast now, that people begin to look to other aspects of their cars.

Avereage or even good drivers can't handle 500+ horsepower without all the safery aids even then they can't ill bet many are too afraid to even hit full throttle in the first few gears, hell I was on a date with this gorgeous blond she got more attentiion than my car but when I punched it just a little she freaked out and farted no kidding kind of embarrased her and stunk up my car for a bit. Point is few are real speed freaks that can handle big horsepower.

I drove a friend's Gallardo the other day. The power was simply unusable on public roads and It was impossible to get an idea of what the car would be like at the limits without being truly irresponsible. On the other end, I can drive my Mondial 3.2 like an absolute fool, hear the engine scream and immerse myself in the driving experience every time I get in the car. Personally, I am glad Ferrari is going in this direction. I still think the Lotus Elise is the greatest thing to come along in the last 10 years. I would love a naturally aspirated 3.0 Ferrari V-8 making 350HP and redlining at 10K in a car weighing under 3000 pounds far more than I want a 500HP monster.

Boring! She's a model I guess is on afew websites supposedly recently posed for Hustler mag feature as with those types has a few issues to say the least.

Is this Ferrari chat or Volvo chat? Come on. If the 450 is just louder but not a bit faster than my 430, take me off the list.

I didn't think it could get any better than my 360 but it did with the 430. I expect the 450 to be even better and faster.

I am glad that they are taking this direction. And I think a lot of people are missing the point here. They are simply going to focus on driving experience as a priority over outright speed. Personally, I can't think this is anything except great news. Improved handling characteristics, more fun at lower speed with engines that need to be revved through the gears a little bit more, improved braking, and engine notes that give the driver feedback that are music in their own regard. I like it.

And I agree with the person that said the Lotus was the best thing to happen in a long time. I hope Ferrari go back to this philosophy where sportiness and driving experience are above all else.
