Sort of reminds me of 1994-5 when dealers were still trying to unload 348 SS's except there are a lot more scuds than the 115 SS's. Dave
Firstly...congrats on your new car. Great color combo!! I would agree that saving $25 g's is a good agurement for getting an 08. If a dealer is selling between $285,000 and $295,000...what would they pay for the car on a trade in with 2500 miles, $260,000.
If brand new cars are at ~$290, that would make the trade number on a car with 2,500 miles (relatively high for an 08 Scud) much less than $260
My car is an 08 with a MSRP at $299K. If I had to sell my car tomorrow my dealer told me wholesale is $250-$260K.
There's your target. Anyone selling privately that is threatening to turn it in to the dealer is faced with these numbers. This is what I'd be shooting for. Talk about a crash.
It ain't over either. Anyone buying now had better be putting 10K miles/ year on her or else they're blowing it even more.
Amazing to think that a little over a year ago Scuds were bringing $150k OVER MSRP putting them in the mid-$400k range. By mid summer we'll likely see used 08s in the above mentioned range as actual selling prices. I don't think I can ever recall a Ferrari - any Ferrari (and especially a specialty model like the Scud) - come down in price so quickly! I think 360s held above MSRP for at least a couple of years. Scary times!
