Excellent post and very well spoken. My experience is as you described. It is a tough car to drive but that is what makes it so much fun and exciting to drive for me compared to modern cars. I think I am still learning the driving characteristics of the car especially getting the technique of the shifter down so I can get it into 1st gear without thinking about it. But I love it!

That was an ILOC Meeting, the 3rd Wolf car was registred in Switzerland those days, the 4th in Mainz (Germany).

I think on the ILOC-Homepage in the gallery section you can find these pictures as well, it's quite famous.

I believe it's in Germany. Background shows "Stoess Juwelen" and a simple google search learned me that Stoess Juwelen is situated in Wiesbaden, Germany

    a question for countach experts:
do you know what kind of wheels were on 5000S cars?

That picture is in the book "Lamborghini - Träume auf 4 Raedern" by Rob de la Rive Box, from 1986, swiss book in german, I have a second copy if someone is interested.

The comment "unfavourable" is nonsense the book costed CHF 60 when it came out and contains many, many pictures of Box' private archive never published before and after.

    yes, a trick question!

it is correct.....but not for all

i am confident the very early 5000S cars had campagnolo magnesium wheels
i had seen one of the rare 5S badged car and it has a campagolo set on! ;)

    I would say that's right.

They would have used the Campagnolo until the supply ran out and then gone to OZ.

exactly (see pics of Minram red 5S car..with campys on! ;) -lambocars image-)

now i would really like to set :
how many "5S" badged cars were built (i know at least 2)
how many campagolo wheels 5000s were delivered (again at least 2...)

and see if they are the same cars...

That line up photo is in a 1983 "Illustrated Lamborghini Buyer's Guide"

Caption under photo reads, "A rare photograph taken during a meeting of the International Lamborghini Owner's Club in Germany: On the left, the Wolf Countach number 3 and on the far right, the Wolf car number 2."

Photo actually is just a bit different, as in my photo there are 2 pedestrians in front of the second car.
