This album is JUNK! This coming from a guy who pre-ordered it months ago, and has been waiting for it for a year. Okay, I'm a huge U2 fan, I own all the albums, even the bad ones (Zooropa anyone?) I rank this slightly better than that one. I've listened to this thing non stop since it was released Monday at Midnight just hoping maybe I'll find something in it. Bono is all over the place vocally, and the lyrics are just gay. Oh, crap someone's going to send in Lindsay Lohan on me for that comment. If you were considering buying this thing, you're going to be disappointed. You will find a couple of decent U2 material in it, but for the most part this is a past. Now all I can do is wait for the tour :)

I hate the song "Get On Your Boots". It's terrible.

Then Letterman has them on 5 days in a row. *puke*

It made happy to hear a DJ on the radio say he thought it was ridiculous.

So far I've really liked it. Took a little bit to find some good stuff in it.

    Good Songs:
    Magnificent
    Fez: Being Born
    Breathe
    Stand Up Comedy

I agree. I usually like most of U2's work, but this just doesn't grab my attention at all.

yes even w/ these songs you mentioon the ablum - well, it leaves one confused as to the purpose of the record. Much of their older albums had a strong theme, some even an almost methodical militia style - very purposeful and direct. Larry's drums, Edge's play set the tone and it never felt middle of the road. This really feels of riding in retreat.

Maybe those things don't burn in the anylonger???

Will they be avoiding paying Ireland taxes on this, then telling the world about poverty and for the "well-to-do" to donate (including countries)?

The Irish government lets superstars off the hook for taxes if they choose to reside there.

Yea, the album is kind of nothing. I only bought it cuz it was $9 and change at Wallymart.

I heard the other day they have enough songs for another album and will be releasing one at the end of the year.

I have to say the South Park episode with Bono is stellar.

I'm listening to it right now and overall I like it. Reminds me of Achtung Baby, but not as groundbreaking or edgy. Generally I think U2 is a bit like RHCP, in that they have remained a great band for a long time, and have let their musical style grow and mature along with them.
