Briefly thought about selling my 360 for something more "practical" and "every day" But she went out and brought home a stray to make my daily drive a little more fun. We put our Mini up for adoption...she is now with a very nice family. The 360's new friend is an absolutely animal with no apparent end to its power band and all the creature comforts a DD should have. Here are a few pics of our new addition:

They compliment each other as good friends should.

I have been sticking to my '01 M5 because I simply like it that much and don't want to change. It is a great DD.

    How is your car equipped?

    Thanks!

She is a 2006 and as far as I can tell fully optioned: Extended Leather, Active Seats (possibly the coolest option), Heads Up, Premium Sound, Ipod adapter, 7 Speed SMGIII...sure I am forgetting something but you get the gist. I added Sirius as soon as I got her home. We picked her up outside Salt Lake and took a most beautiful scenic drive over a couple day back down to Phoenix. The car is spectacular a great addition to any stable.

How much if you don't mind me asking? Warranty? Reason I ask is because the '06's were notorious for being unreliable POS's.

Don't want to hijack the thread but I've never known ANY BMW for being notorious for being POSs.

    Jason,

Congrats! I had a '06 M5, well actually two! The first car had the dreaded vanos oil leak problem. Other than that both cars performed without issue! The power is pretty incredible for a big car!!

Did you get an extended warranty?? I would be concerned about the clutch wear.

Enjoy!! Glad to see you post, been a while!! ;)

Jason- So now you have eighteen cylinders and 80 valves in your stable. That is really impressive. My wife and I are a very green family with only 898 hp between our two cars, and, miraculously, also 80 valves from a V12 and a Mercedes V8. We beat you on cylinders by two, but we are well down on rpm. You are pushing 17,000 rpm between the two and we are way lower. We do, however, have 834 ft lbs of torque.

I call this a tie, but admit your M5 will kick my wife's GL 550's rear end on everything except a dirt road.

    Nice cars, mate.

The car's build date was 10/06 so the regular warranty ends 10/10. Apparently, most of the kinks (particularly with the SMG) were worked out on post 03/06 build dates so I should be good to go.
She had just over 27K on the clock when I picked her up a week ago

Great car. I had an 2005. My wife just bought a 6.3 CLS AMG. In just straight acceleration, the 6.3 feels faster, but it is no where near as good as the M5 in every other aspect!

    Enjoy in good health.

I blame the kids but if I had enough money there would be no compromises.

I don't believe anyone has seen Grady in close to 8 years

Whitman B. Mayo (15 November 1930 – 22 May 2001) was an American actor best known for his character Grady Wilson on the 1970s television sitcom

I drove an m5 for the first time the other week. Weird jerky gear boxes, especially in reverse. The SMG was way smooth though.

I leased an '06 E60 M5 and grew to like it so much I purchased it when the lease was up. At first I thought it was kind of ugly but the 505 hp and 7 speed SMG made it look better. I have since grown to really like its looks. The car is an amazing combination of performance and functionality. Yeah, the SMG gearbox is a little jerky, but so what...

    M button on... Enjoy!
