Ferrari of Dallas and then Boardwalk Ferrari have been the gracious host of our DFW Ferrari Show for 5 years. They have provided the beautiful lawn, tents, lunch, and opened up their dealership for tours. This year Boardwalk has cut back on hosting and sponsoring these types of events. I know of our event and at least the Lamborghini Concorso event at MSR that were cut back. I talked to a few potential hosts, but with the new Lamborghini Concorso date with new host only 2 weeks beyond our standard weekend and then also the return of Italian Carfest, it presented too many challenges for this casual show. Instead, I think the local Ferrari community should put more support behind events like the Lamborghini Concorso, British Car Day, Cooper, and Italian Carfest.

I appreciate the support over the past 5 years and we finished last year off on a high note with the highest car count and attendance. We even had a Diablo GT in attendance! ;)

    The memories…

:( I loved that show. Maybe Boardwalk can put something on their site about the Cooper show and just transfer all the Ferrari attendance there... That was a real Diablo GT???

OK I didn't think so... after looking through the pics, go figure, I didn't start attending until the year after the F40, F50 and Enzo... still never seen one. Hopefully one can make it to another show later this year!

As stated earlier, there are several European car shows this spring here in the Dallas area. I believe the first one up is the All British & European Car Day at White Rock Lake on Sunday, April 26th. The show is open to anyone and the Lone Star Chapter of the Alfa Romeo Owners Club and the Italian Car Club of the Southwest will be there with some shade and a place to put your chair and hang out. There is an Alfa class and a general Italian car class. Both older and modern machinery are welcome to enter. The Porsche, BMW and Mercedes clubs usually have strong turnout unless there is a track day schedule conflict. I think a strong Ferrari, Lambo and Maserati turnout would probably steal the show.

The Cooper Clinic show will be in late May or early June, not exactly sure. That one also has the potential to turn into a good show. Both the Alfa and ICCSW clubs will be there.

The Italian Carfest will not be until September so why wait until next fall to bring your car out for display? There certainly is opportunity this spring.

    That's it and chao,

There is a Ford flat-head and early four cylinder show at Sandy Lake Park sometime in April this year...

I am going to call and ask if they would accept my ZR-1.

Based on the weather right now, I'm getting really excited about car shows. I hope something with a large presence is organized soon!
