I word the title with the given title, that way I can't be blamed for the content, but those with an IQ under 7 or a Mouth Breather still try. :D

Impressive! I suppose LH has serous skill of controlling RC car.
Controlling a car from the third person viewpoint needs a different set of skills from simply driving a car.

Awesome vid but it is fake :( you can't control a rc car from that far away with a bluetooth blackberry storm. Again really cool video though :)

    It is a cool video!
But, you guys realize that this is a "guerrilla marketing" gig from Vodafon... meaning this is not real, it is special effects...

After watching it a second time it's pretty obvious it's fake. Still pretty cool.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA Oh My God, some people on this site are so gullible... You guys honestly thought that McLaren had spent the time converting one of there 2009 cars to be controlled by remote wasting time and risking the possibility of damaging, if not destroying it, right in the middle of the most important pre-season testing in the history of the sport ?

I guess it would solve the apparent poor times from this weeks testing !!

IMO converting a modern F1 car to a RC controllable car is relatively easy task.

Connect a blackberry with a laptop PC near the blackberry by bluetooth
and let the laptop connect to the pit computer by Wifi connection or wire.

Control actuator motors to the steering and the throttle on the car from the pit computer.
(I suppose the steering wheel is already equipped an actuator motor for power steering.
Just control it from the pit computer instead of the onboard computer.)

Preparing the equipment mentioned above is relatively easy task for talented engineers.
If a big sponsor requests why not?

Agreed that controlling it with a blackberry is probably fake, but the car looks like it is driven by R/C, which to me is what makes this so super cool.

I'm starting to believe that too: I noticed how the front wheels don't move as they remotely control the steering wheel in the garage.

    Bummer.

The Topgear episode where they race real cars in a quarry with R/C is one of my favorite of all times.
