Napolis posted that link in the P4/5 thread a few days ago. I don't think it has been established that it is based on a Ferrari.

There is a section in the factory, just past the leather cutting and stitching area that is reserved for "Special Projects". It is screened off from the rest of the factory and overseen by the genial fellow with the blond beard that is always looking anxious during F1 races when the cameras show the Ferrari pit. He is the director of VIP affairs for Ferrari and there are always at least two or three projects ongoing at any time. Some of these projects are just personalization projects on standard cars, but every once in a while there are very specific one-off cars that are unlike anything the factory normally builds.

I thought it was based on an improved Murcielago chassis or so?

With Jason moving to Bretone, chances are he'll use lambo running gear. His work on Jim's P4/5 was beautiful but I think that was Jims Passion for the P3. Bretone tend to be more angular than the flowing lines of the P4/5. But we will all be following with intrest

There has been an ugly modified 430 that allegedly was ordered by a Chinese businessman. IIRC, there have been some threads...

Well.... ugly, I think it looks interesting, to say the least. Designed by Leonardo Fioravanti. I understand he has designed quite some nice cars in the past.

I genuinely appreciate seeing these projects come to life as they meet ever increasingly stringent federal guidelines (through use of prev. federalized architecture) and are properly enjoyed through use rather than shelved in a styling studio with little more substance than a body shell suspended with fishing line and 2x4s. Whether the running gear is Italian, American, British, or that of a Unimog, I am pleased to see such an undertaking potentially advance automobile design/engineering and hope that the residual trickles down to we mortals. Godspeed.
