the 450 should have enough in HP and looks to keep the faithful happy with their purchase
Whilst not the best looking Ferrari ever, the 308GT4 is not near the worst looking IMO. I just hope the new once (450 or whatever they call it) is small and light. A dream that will not come true due to the average size of the customer in the biggest market, but I just wish they would. Small and light, stunning looks and tons of power. I don't want much.
Further spy images of the forthcoming Ferrari F450 have emerged. The test mule was shot while testing in Sweden in conditions which are not ideal for a rear-wheel-driven Ferrari. Nevertheless, ice-cold circumstances are part of the development process if reliability under any kind of weather is to be claimed. Boasting over 500hp the F450 is even rumoured to have a higher power output than the 520hp F430 Scuderia. Ferrari will use the same double-clutch gearbox from the California for the F450 to double-up with the envisaged 4.5-litre V8. How the global financial difficulty has affected the scarlet marque will be seen in the F450 through possible technologies like a road car version of KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery Systems). The mule in these pictures may be disguised as an F430 but the differences are easy to spot; wider fenders, the air scoops and that centrally-mounted exhaust pipe give the guessing game away. Ferrari has apparently codenamed the car F142 and it is expected to make its first public showing at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2009. Deliveries would then commence just over a year from now. http://www.worldcarfans.com/9090316.022/ferrari-f450-test-mule-spied-up-close-during-winter-testing Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I don't know how global financial difficulties can be manifested into pioneering new and experiemental technology in their next car. If you had financial difficulties, then you wouldn't gamble on stuff like that surely?
I heard 4.7L not 4.5, I agree with mhh, it will be as light or lighter than Scuderia and with 4.7L more power than Scud and with twin clutch, haven't heard or read 6 or 7. PS Pete, I prefer & like all your posts on cars and links to snippets on new cars, keep up the searching and posting - it means I can view a lot of stuff here in the Aussie section
Apparently, here are some 'exposed' pics of the new F450. Also, an artist's rendition of it from the "spy pics" seen. http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/autoexpressnews/234840/ferrari_f450.html http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=237517&page=2 Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yeah, hard to tell really. Looks ok, then........its like. Maybe not! Will pass better judgement once "official" pics are released. Also seeing it in person would be best of course.
Artists guestimate, maybe. Pics have no front spoiler or rear panel, so he's guessing there and I think he's wrong. Never seen an F-car spoiler join the body at an angled join like his. There's more often a vertical edge at the junction. Suspect the reflections have misled his eye as to how curved the forward door side bodywork is too. Could be close to the design but I doubt its spot on.
Yeah, of course its not the end product. But I reckon it would be close. We will see what happens. Lol! Yeah, I thought so too with those wheels on it!
Here is p/shopped pic that looks better I reckon! Some guys in that thread commented about the Zonda look. Image Unavailable, Please Login
