My OEM ferrari flashlight that came with the car is NOT working. Is there a battery ???
stupid question, but where do you install the batteries. Where do you unscrew the cap ??? at the bottom of the flashlight ???
there is always 1 thing that does not work on a Ferrari. it doesn't matter if you fix it, there will be something else that takes it place. IMO, if its the flashlight, LEAVE IT
Robert- If the flashlight is too far up in a place where the sun does not shine, it is difficult to see whether it is working or not. Plus it is really difficult to get volunteers to check it for you. Perhaps Urotrash can help you. He has expertise in all the right areas. You should check and make sure the blinker fluid in your flashlight is not overfilled. If it is, it causes a burning sensation. Luckily there are over the counter preparations that can help alleviate that problem. Taz Terry Phillips
LOL When was the last time you used it? If not used regularly and not left on a charger sometimes they go dead. However be careful when jumping because the flashlight needs to shine for atleast 15 min with no throttle to let the computers reset.
No battery, it's one of those self winding/charging types. You have to hold the flashlight in your left hand and slide your curled right hand along it's shaft very quickly for about 5 minutes. This will give you about 3 minutes of light before it goes off!
Robert is a terrific guy and a trusted owner in our south Florida F-car community who CAN drive. He may have legitimately wondered if it was a disposable-and-replace type of flashlight.
I thought you were supposed to sit on it, rock back and forth vigorously, and then it might....... go into gear......uh, I mean light up.
To the OP: if its not working, I'll gladly swap it for a Lumilite flashlight that DOES work! I'll even cover the postage.
I too know Robert and he can drive but ... how many people does it take to change the batteries in a MagLight?
thanks, But seriously, I could not figure out how to get to the batteries out. The top comes off and you access to the light. The bottom is impossible to open. I used a couple of wrenches and there is no freakin way the cap is coming off. So yes I thought that the light was disposable. Even though on the top is denotes AA. Hey just asking a question. I did find out that if the batteries leak that the fluid will cement the flashlight cap to the shaft. Now the funny thing from MagLite. If the batteries are either (. . . . . . ) MagLite has an agreement with various batteries and they will replace the light fixture. Funny; how do you find out which batteries were installed if you can not get to them.
Man, I think we need some documentation here. Photos of the DIY job? Are you sure we don't need a Ferrari mechanic for this? Hunter
My last attempt required 1 roll duct tape and 2 tubes of super glue. Then there was the 2 weeks to get it back off my forehead BUT it worked after that so I must have done it right.
