Napolis, if you do not mind me asking, how often do you transport your cars to Europe? Is it usually just one or do you bring several over? By the way love the photos, looks like a lot of fun!

Thanks for the Photo's.Great to see. Out where they can be heard and seen in motion.
We are involved in rebuilding a Spitfire MKV at the moment, not to gather dust in a museum somewhere, but to fly. For those of you who have never heard an airborne Merlin at full song, 27 litre Rolls V12, it is the sweetest sound.
The enjoyment of these machines is in the feast of the senses it gives while they do what they were designed for.
A fellow rang me as he had heard from a mutual friend that I was involved with Ferrari. He explained to me he has a 512BB Carb car and he wished to sell it and what in my opinion was the value of these cars on today’s market. When I asked about the history of the car, he went on to tell me he was the third owner, and it was purchased from a deceased estate over 15 years ago, and has not driven it since. I then thought for a second and said to him, " So, a fellow that's dead actually put more miles on the car than you!" The phone went silent, and he finally said oh my god you're right, what have I done.
We never own these things, we are just custodians for a while. How much enjoyment and wonderful experiences as this guy missed out on by "saving" his Boxer? He had done more damage to the car by not driving it, Brakes, Fuel system, cooling system, Exhausts rusted out, shocks, springs, etc, etc, the list goes on. Use is not abuse. Drive them, enjoy them.
    Cheers Murray

That's great about the Spitfire! Please post some photo's of the resto. Too True about the Boxer. Letting a car sit for 15 years is very sad.

As for shipping our cars to Europe it depends on events we deceide to do.

    Cheers

Cool, it certainly looks like you have plenty of fun in your cars. The 2002 is my favourite. My dad had a few M Cars and they were great fun to drive, although i was not old enough at the time for him to let me borrow them on my own.

50,000 km's in 3 or 4 years on my little single cylinder (16 year old) Suzuki GN250 motorcycle ... about to clock the odometer. Hardly classic or even interesting, but I'm impressed :D, ridden every work day come rain or shine, etc. ~$12 to fill the tank for ~250km's.

0 km's on my Alfa Romeo 1750 GTV in 20 years!~!, damn got to finish that restoration.
    Pete
BTW: the m/c cost me a massive $1650 ... can't get much cheaper mileage than that!

Some awesome pics in this thread. Malcolm any possibilty in getting that last picture in hi res? Cars are really abouy driving, I find it a bit sad that people buy them, look at them and never drive them. There is an F50 in South Africa thats never been driven, well it has around 650 kms on the clock..maybe been driven once or twice at most....

    Hi Malcolm-
    Great pictures! Love the yellow.

If you can, watch a recent episode of Top Gear on BBC America. They race a blue Daytona coupe against a carbon fiber motor boat from Portofino to St. Tropez!

Some great footage of a classic metallic blue Daytona. Wonder what was the exact color of that car.
