Yes, but here in Coolum I have waves AND Fcars!!!! Someone would have to guarantee me WEEKLY trip in the F50 and Michelotto to make putting up with Melb worthwhile!
I forgot you live in Coolum Kazza. We drove through there yesterday. We should have swung past for a chat. Next time. Coolum is a very nice place.
I didn't really do too much happy snapping; but here are some shots taken before I started the days proceedings. No worries mate. It might be a while, these things are eye wateringly expensive to run..................... especially if something ***** itself. It isn't hard to spend $1000 on ELF 104 fuel alone.
Forgot to mention, that Gaylambo is FAST. Allan had never driven a Lambo of any description on a track before. First lap out, feeling his way with it on old tyres he did circa 1.28. Came in after 3 laps and suggested some changes for it. Did another set, rear end still very loose as you could see from just watching trackside. More changes another set of laps. A tweak or 2 and then he does 3 laps all 1.23. Parked it and that was it. FWIW, the Lambo is a bit underwhelming. Doesn't sound all that exotic and build quality is crap. Simon told me that the first time they ran it the brake caliper rubbed on the inside of the wheel and nearly chopped it in half !! Obviously LOTS of R & D went into the thing.......not. It runs a proper sequential dogbox actuated via wheel mounted paddles. Apparently the changes are driven by compressed air and you can hear it when it changes. Allan is the only guy I have ever met who turns down an F50 drive flat. Not interested, just a road car!
What an amazing experence Brett. A day you are sure to remember for a very long time. I am still waiting for the day when I can see an F50, let alone a Yellow one, or have listen to it running, or have a ride in one, or go for a run around a track. Same applies to the 360N-GT. Just amazing, congrats! Dreams are made of this. What a generous offer 360C, outstanding from all aspects.
I would disagree Kaz, the new MRC is actually very good and the car handles extremely well for a "road" car when I select it.
Mr Simonsen drove the TLA Lambo in 2003 at the Bathurst 24 hour, alongside Mr Stokell, Mr Youlden & Mr Hackett... It was painted yellow and black and had Donut King signs on it...
That it was James, and 360C proves that not all aussies are as we portray them to be. I will remember that day.
