Hey guys, I just saw this one pop up again on fleabay. Did someone here on Fchat buy this one and they are trying to turn it or what? I know some previous comments were that some didn't like the tinted windows, but what else do we know about this car?

(Edit) I just saw the car sold on ebay for $26.5 from another thread here not that long ago so what gives on the quick sale?

    Thanks,
    MB

I was wondering the same thing. The sale might not have gone thru.

I had spoken to the seller who is fairly well known, during the last auction. He is offering it again. I would assume that the sale didn't happen.

    We all get another chance.

I must say that I think this is the one to have.

What causes the need for an engine rebuild on a car with 48K miles? These are not flimsy engines.

good question, i think there is something else with this car, and maybe why the buyer backed out! remember in this world you get what you pay for!!

The answers to many obvious questions aren't volunteered in the ad copy for this offering.

I wouldn't describe them as flimsy, however they do get run at high RPMs and it's impossible to know how it was treated earlier in it's life. I suspect it was mostly the ravages of time.

It is not uncommon at all for oil leaks to appear from a variety of places and perhaps a coolant leak or two contaminating the oil. Overheating is a possibility and can destroy an alloy engine pretty quickly. Some deteriorated valve seals and worn guides might make it smoke a bit and with those six side-draft Webers there are a few opportunities for fire, flooding, oil-dilution etc.

After more than 30 years and 48,000 miles it most likely needed attention.

Don't be bamboozled by a salesman's claim that it was "rebuilt" without looking at what was actually done and by whom. 2005 is already a while ago. It might still have problems.

That's what I figured. It appears to be one of those "too good to be true" deals, and in the Ferrari realm that is almost always a very dangerous thing.

    Is this a 1st w/ign. wire insulators?
