I have seen some tint jobs before but mostly they are pretty bad, lots of bubbles left in the film and the way they cut out the film you can still see gaps where there should be a bit more film. Does anyone know the limit for tint here?

I get my cars done in some little backstreet shop in Tok Kwa Wan behind IMSS Sun Wong Toi Rd. Perfectly happy with the job they do. They always tell you what is legal and what is not. So funny to see the cars at roadblocks frantically putting down all windows... Not that I would know anything about that. Laws changed a while back and you can have much darker tint than before.

Is that right? Thats great, after being in Jakarta for 2 months i got used to the tint and want a bit of privacy in my car now. I better ask these guys what the legal percentage is because a friend with a mercedes ML got fined for having too dark tint recently. How much do they charge over at that shop?

I think there's usually a Film X ad in Cazbuyer.

    Tok Kwa Wan ~ $1500
    Film X ~ 4000-6000 depending on film

Tok Kwa Wan is at least 75% cheaper than the "name" places. I have had them do many cars from 599, QP, Scuderia, 7 seater, Alfa... Never a problem. You can see the job they did on my Scuderia - it is at IMSS Ap Lei Chau. Don't know the %'s of tint off hand but the tint place shows me the alternatives in the legal, not quite legal and way illegal range.

Sorry don't know. One of the guys at IMSS Tok Kwa Wan takes care of it for me. You can ask in Tok Kwa Wan - apparently it is well known. I drop my car at IMSS and they take it for me, go for lunch and it is done when I come back. Super convenient and fast.

Ouch, I read this literally 5 hours too late as I was there today after work picking up my car. Would have loved to check out the tint. Is yours the white one in the showroom?

Hi DM, Saw your car in IMSS yesterday. Your Scud looks great and the tint looks perfectly on your white car.
You are selling it at IMSS or just leave there for demonistration?
