I've been getting requests for the thin black gasket that fits in the hole around the door handle. Is there any chance one of you has some in good condition that I could use as patterns to make a mold. It won't hurt them, & I'll return them with matching new ones from the mold. Ideally I'd like to borrow 6 to 8 of these so I could make a multicavity mold that would turn out that quantity in one pour. That would really help to reduce the final piece price as most of my cost is the labor per pour.
I have two NOS, in the wrapper, brudda...maybe replicate those, to get your mold tree??? 832 978 9429 They are DAMNED expensive ...like $38USD, each!!!! Also impossible to find in the parts diagrams....LOL!
It's not so much a "gasket" as it it's an oval "pop in bushing"....it fills the oval around the early style 308 door handles and avoids them rattling around in the oval door cutout .... As it's conventional hard plastic, I assure that 9 of 10 of them are missing, broken or lost, also the type of thing Body Shops remove then 'forget' upon reassembly...... I'll get mine and post the part number, it's in the door pouch of #22127....
The part is: #6056700 Gasket, handle seat I plan to make them from a black polyurethane that has just enough give so that it won't break when flexed. About the hardness & toughness of skateboard & inline skate wheels. >They are DAMNED expensive ...like $38USD, each! Unfortunately, I suspect that mine will be in the same ballpark. >I have two NOS, in the wrapper, brudda...maybe replicate those, to get your mold tree??? WOW!, NOS would definitely make it worthwhile to make a mold & run more to make the final mold tree as you suggest. I'll give you a call early next week.
I would definitely want some of those. I don't think you can get them anywhere not even for 40.- a piece. Those are extremely unobtainable. Thanks Helmut
I remember someone selling those in the FCA Monthly Newsletter a couple of years ago. About the same price.
No, they are just a little oval shaped piece of plastic..... Ferrari of Houston's Parts Department actually procured mine but that was when Russell was there....he has since left, I know he had to look for them a few days in the book of diagrams.... Man, maybe I have the last ones ever? I am sure Ricambi and Ferrari of Uk can get them with the parts number.... I need to go get them but I just get depressed when I see the car that has been held hostage for a year and a half.....it's not even inside, just parked in back rusting against the fence... Lady Valeria works next door, and I am now forbidden to bother her there, as well.....so it's just a sad deal, to be me.
I'll go get them, storm thru Valeria's office, toss her some flowers, then run from the cops over to Amanda's house and have her take a picture with her iPhone to post....... The THINGS... I.... DO for you guys! LOLOLOL! Stand by, to make my Bail money........
Hmmm, actually I meant go for a fun run and "clean out the pipes" so to speak (take that as you will). Of course your way could work as well.
My alternator should be rebuilt, for #20405 this week, my EKG and stress testing last week was a $500.00 deductible. The good news is my heart's okay, leaving only stress and other factors to worry about. ZZ Top was good, closing down the Rodeo...it's not ALL bad news...I had Valeria 'back', actually, then f*(^*^(*&^ ed it all up myself..... Image Unavailable, Please Login
..now back to our discussion of esoteric little Ferrari bits...... I knew what you meant Joe, I just need to take a week off, and come comingle with those lil' Spring Breakers....
I recall one South American beauty that came jumping in my convertible, on Galveston Beach........like a mullet leaping into your boat offshore..... I have let all this really get to me.....dunno why. Driving coupes now, I'll obviously have to try harder....
They want pics up in the Dino Section of my big balsa Velzys, in a roof rack on the Ferrari.....no one believes you, these days.
Verell, I have two of the gaskets, however, they're not in very good shape. If you are able to make them, put me down for two. Paypal is on it's way for the fuel line kit. Attached is a picture of the gaskets. -gt4fore Image Unavailable, Please Login
It's a good chance they are the last ones, altho you never know, some obscure Ferrari dealer in an out of the way place like South Africa might have one on the shelf... NOT!!!, I checked Maranello Classic Parts (formerly Ferrari.uk) On that site 6056700 says superceded by # 61455400 which is listed as being used on the 288 GTO. Maranello has none in stock. I also checked Ricambi & FerrParts with both p/ns, again both came up NLA.
I have them in hand now, Verrell, as well as another part you may want to think about in your product line....
Actually this was pretty much the case, I tossed the flowers and card to a back Dock Worker with delivery instructions,. grabbed the gaskets and took off down the street.. It didn't work, she's still mad.......
