Hi all...I did a pretty extensive archives check before I posted this and am still in a quandry. In short: I had to change the car battery yesterday as I somehow fried the old one (was on a tender so I'm not sure of the cause). Once I put the new battery in the car will not start (plenty of turning over but no firing). Pressing the key fob button does nothing. No beep..nothing. The F1 pump primes when I open the door and the red light is blinking on the dash (left of the wheel). I had the car in for a 30k service in Oct of 2007. The siren was replaced at that time. Could this be the problem so soon? The weather is turning nicer in Michigan and I'm stuck. Any advice is appreciated.

did you try shutting of the main switch for 10 minutes? (one under the hood)
not sure if it will help but its worth a try.

Replace the battery in your remote fob.

What Greg said. And did you go through the power up sequence? I can't remember the process but it is somewhere on here and it is in the manual. Very inacurate attempt from a hazy memory -- turn the power on, turn the key to position 1 and wait xx time, then start the car but don't touch anything while it learns the settings (that is idling for something like 2 minutes). After that you should be good to go.

Still need help guys. I changed the battery in the key fob. No change. IS my next move a new siren? It was changed out in Oct of 07. The car will not do anything with the key fob. No chirps. No recognition at all. I've turned off power using the main switch. Unfortunately nothing came of it. I tried the power up sequence as best I could. Is there a better description of this procedure somewhere? This is very frustrating.

a bad siren will not disable the car. It will throw the red light on constant.

Is the trans light on the dash flashing?? what is displayed on the dash? Any gear??

Tell us more- F1?, head lights come on?, brake lights when you tap brake?

I'd check all the ignition fuses.

If you merely changed out the battery it makes little sense that the car will not start, but a battery gone bad with tender on seems strange unless it was the original battery.

F1 pump primes, all dash lights up normally, it shows it's in neutral. Head lights come on. I haven't checked tail lights but will. It was not an original battery that I changed. The car started normally about 6 weeks ago. I don't know what happened since. It wasn't touched in the meantime. This is perplexing.

    Very strange indeed.

I'd check all the ignition fuses. Sounds like your ECU's not getting current.

You are the winner! Ignition fuse (#78) blown. All is good now. Thanks for saving me a $1000 repair bill.
