I had never seen one of these before yesterday when I was browsing ebay for classic Minis. How cool is this thing? Has 4-wheel independent suspension by "Flexitor" rubber trailing arms all around. Basically this is two metal tubes, one inside the other, with rubber sandwiched in between. The rubber is bonded to both tubes. The outer tube is fixed to the frame and the swing arm for the suspension is attached to the inner tube. Tough, creative design! These were apparently built to compete with Land Rover. 90 inch wheelbase. Has the venerable Austin A70 engine, as well as a diesel variant. I am so tempted by this thing....someone talk me out of it!

Very interesting. It looks very much like an 80" Series I or 88" Series II Land Rover.

Oh just the usual reasons....lack of garage space, wife would kill me, yet one more internal combustion engine to maintain, etc etc.
