Less than 2 weeks to go! Get those reservations in and we'll meet at the hotel around lunch. Dinner about 1830, O club afterwards, followed by Grand Prix. It will be a small but friendly group!
make it a must do, it will be fun. If anyone wants we can do some hill country sight seeing tours in the plane. Besides flying in Friday about lunch I will fly around a little late morning/mid-day Saturday.
Jimpo - I hope you can make it. You're my lucky charm to getting vehicles started. My plan: Fly in around noon> Hang out on ramp 5pm OClub bar 630 dinner at Cotton Gin Afterwards OClub bar - formal toast in honor of Switches with photo Maybe Aussie GP at 0100 Breakfast at Airport cafe hope to see everyone
The hotel is on a waitlist for Saturday. If you don't have a reservation, better get on that list now. I'm third on the list...
I might go down on Sat and back up Sat or take a tent. I wonder if they'd be mad at me bunking on the grass for a night. Gotta check with the ball and chain. I just got back from a ski trip to Monarch and then over to Telluride. Here's a few pics. It was bumpy as hell in the Uncompaghre range. Good skiing, went by Monument valley while I was at it, and headed to PHX for a conference. Well, checked with wife, and we have a girl in the state finals in gymnastics this weekend, so I'm out. Enjoy.
Russ, want me to call for Cotton Gin Reservation? I don't have a clue on the count, but will give it a guess.

Friday afternoon we're looking at doing the following... http://www.wildseedfarms.com/ http://www.nimitz-museum.org/
Peace of cake. 600 AGL ceiling out of Roanoke, 20 kt winds gusting to 25 Fredericksburg. . We delayed departure until 1:15 and scud ran 1000 AGL until we could hole on top around Granbury. Smooth up at 6.5. Once descending back below scattered clouds got real bumpy. Tillman was introduced to the Skylane roof. 20-25 kts at Fredericksburg no issue only 10-20 off runway. Checked in, rental car, and now downtown.
I didn't bring my camera connection, so no pics to upload yet. Walked around downtown and then back to the Hangar. MarkPDX had just gotten here when we got back. A few drinks and games of pool in Officers Club with Jennie/Mia, Tillman, Mark & Maria. I'm tired all of a sudden, I might end up sleeping through Qualifying. Plan to do some flying around in the morning returning before noon as everyone else arrives.
Great weekend, summarized by flying down Friday, German food/beer, Officers Club, sleep, Airport Diner breakfast, Mark and I flew to Kerrville and down the Guadalupe River before lunch, downtown food/beer, Officers Club, fine dining at Cotton Gin, Officers Club, F1 Race, sleep, flight in Russ T-28, and quick 1:15 flight back with the wind. Already plans for a 2nd annual March or April next year. A fly and drive. You can see all my pics http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/album.php?albumid=263. Great videos from back seat of Russ T-28. Great time! Thanks to Russ for the grand idea, we should do this again. I got a ride down with Rob and family, hung with some great folks, got a bit of stick time in the North American product, bugged the bartender, saw F1 on the projector, and won my Fantasy League race. All in all, just a wonderful weekend. I really have to start again on the license. Somehow, I didn't get many pictures.
