I checked on this car. Yes, I know the car. It is a 1968 Miura P400. Modified by Top Motors (& others) to resemble an SV. Pictures were sent to me during the conversion which I believe was only finished last year. By the way, the images they are using for advertising are those of a REAL Miura SV 5022 which resides in the USA with a New Yorker, which happens to be red. The converted P400 happens to be black. Interesting outfit.
Joe, you are getting soft. This about as polite/PC a comment as one could make given the use of pictures of a different car than the one they actually have for sale. To me it's just plain misleading, if not outright fruadulent if what you say is true (which no doubt is).
Shall I tell the owner of 5022 in New York that pictures of his red SV are being used for the sale of a black P400 for sale in Germany?
Thanks Joe! Record price for an P400? A-S Singen does often use pics of car they have sold before, i think it was the same story when they showed #5006 instead of a pic of the car in the ad.
I believe it would be the proper thing to do. We shouldn't knowingly let bozo's like these misrepresent cars, specially cars near to our heart.
Frank Sinatra's Miura alive and doing well... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
He left the interior alone and just cleaned it up. Still has the original wild boarskin (tan pigskin really) with orange shag-pile carpets...
Moderation The Webers are a bit too sparkly although Jeff Stephan now has the "as-new" formula and can mellow them a bit...
Hey Joe, really enjoying the Lambo shirt thanks to you and Margaret. Heard about what you're doing with the Ferrari cars in Monterey. Awesome. You have a fairway waiting for you if you wanna bring the gang to La Dolce Vita. You will appreciate the Lambos I have signed up thus far, about 21 as of today. I'd post pics, but unsure if that would be cool. email me at [email protected] if you want me to send them.
Very enjoyable thread. Here's a couple of pics (of about 100 I scanned in of various cars over the years) from a Silverstone event sometime in the early 1990s... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Great to see so many options this year! The Ferrari GTOs will not be doing anything formal on Friday (as most have either Laguna Seca or Quail commitments) although I am sure some may individually have a look-in at both Concorso and La Dolce Vita to see whats going on. Are there any Miuras coming to La Dolce Vita?
LOL, I think I remember this Diablo (EE.699.AU) as being the first RHD Diablo to come to England covered by a car magazine? A couple days old and the shift lever breaks off in the driver's hand :-0 Thats Miura SV 4828 beside it...
I recall that too, I think the display was arranged by Portman (was that the importer's name?) I'm only at Pg 40 of the 300 so forgive me if this has been mentioned before but I have an old magazine with a pic of a Miura discovered in the East somewhere (perhaps India, maybe Iran - I can't recall) and the headlamps had been switched for something from a more mundane car (presumably they had broken and whoever was using it as a run-around couldn't afford to fix them) and were just normal circular upright headlamps wedged into the original holes. Can anyone remember this?
I think you are thinking of 4870 when discovered in Iran with its "fixed" headlights and featured in a 1991 Classic & Sportscar issue...
In the past 15 years or so, many Muiras have been 'rescued' as they have become appreciated once more...
