I'll start this thread because I'm wondering who has a.) gone the furthest miles without rebuild and who has b.) gone the furthest miles in general. I would love to know what catastrophic things happened at what mileage requiring a rebuild. My 1988.5 328 runs VERY healthy with good compression and no smoke at almost 60K miles. Now, where is that wood I can knock on. I probably just jinxed myself.

My 86 328s has 63612 miles on its origional engine. Other than the required services, belts, clutch etc. is is as strong and reliable as any of my Corvettes. No smoke, good oil pressure and has never overheated. Tracks and brakes straight and everything functions. My 246gt on the other hand...a tad fragile.

My 84 has 103K now. I bought it with 57K back in 1997.

She's in the shop this very minute getting fresh belts, etc. for the third time under my ownership.

109K on mine, bought it in 2002 with 53K. It's never been apart and runs strong. I had it on a dyno a few years back and it still pulled stock HP numbers.

These engines aren't any more unreliable than any other DOHC aluminum motor. Keep the timing/ignitions systems in good shape and don't overheat it, and you'll be fine.

A couple of years ago I met up with a chap in Chattanooga who used a 308 QV as a daily driver. The car already had over 120K miles on it even back then.

Mine has just under 60k . Last winter we did a bit of minor engine work that included new heads, rings, bearings and rebuild of ancilaries . I should be good for at least twenty or thirty years .

I feel like the young kid on the block, only have 39,150 miles as of the other day. On the other hand I'm only 400 miles awayfrom putting 20,000 miles on the car myself. Bought the car 3 1/2 years ago with 19,550 mile on her and drive it all the time. At almost 6,000 miles per year I'll catch up to you other guys someday.

82k miles on my '76 GTB. I don't see many carb owners on the above list for some reason. Am I the only one out there with some miles on their car?

    64k on my 85' 308, she's barely broken in.
Runs very strong , no smoke, no oil burning.
The more you drive them , the better they run.

Speaking of clutches....what are most of y'all getting out of yours? As far as I can tell from records the one in my car hasn't ever been replaced, and it's fine.

I have never replaced my clutch. I cannot find any paperwork that is was replaced before I bought it in 1997 with 57,000 miles (but I just can't believe it wasn't for some reason). I average 2-3 track sessions a year. That's 46,000 miles and twelve years of hard track driving events and street use just with me behind the wheel - all on the same, still-strong, clutch.

98,xxx on my '75 Ferrari. Bought it with 7x,xxx. Starts very easy, runs very strong. I've changed the belts about 3X, and done two thorough services since I bought it. I feel it has a lot of life left.

I've got 32x,xxx on my Lancia. It could use "some work".
