How funny is that! Chapple went blonde! Great photo. I went to college with Chapple. He does great work. How can I download this photo? I would love to shoot this to some of my friends. They would love to see Chapple with the golden locks.
Best in Class @ Concourso Italiano 2007. Previous owner states "Best example of a Countach DD in the US" Apparently the opinion shared by the shop that performed the resto as well. I dunno, that white/black CT looked pretty hot.
OK. It's officially out there now... no longer "low key" that I've been (perhaps wrongly so) keeping that way to a fair degree. I feel bad for him a little; as everybody and their brother is going to try to sell any and everything "at a high price"... that is always frustrating as a buyer. In any case, It might be time now to rock-and-roll. See what the next step is.... It's always exciting. Thanks to everyone who came out last weekend again. It was nice that it was our secret for a while, and thanks for being a part of it for the last two years
no good deed will go unpunished-ken's generosity is taken advantage of by the "children" of the forums and as you said, now the price'll be dbl
I disagree Isaac. Ken still likes showing his cars to people. He's not going to turn into a recluse now. He could tone it down in the future, but I think he still will come out to autozones frequently and continue to have events at his warehouse.
My video has 14,000 views already and more than 200 favs. Pretty cool If anybody is on Digg http://digg.com/autos/The_Sultan_of_Michigan
http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/27/video-mystery-collection-is-one-of-the-nicest-weve-ever-seen/ Yup, no longer low key Great video Webby!
The comments on that article make me cringe. Some people just think that everything in life should be handed to them on a silver platter.
Well I didn't think this would blow up like it did just from this past week, but something tells me it will be ok.
i just saw all the videos/photos about this collection, very impressive! truly a great collection wish i lived closer and could see in person! PS GREAT job with the photos!
I just joined the forum to thank you Isaac for all of the time and effort that you spent taking, processing, and posting these pics, truly outstanding! I don't a Ferrari so I guess I don't belong, but I knew Enzo's last name so it let me through anyway . I do have an RS4 (and a B6 S4 being prepped for sale), and it is ironic that the car I wouldn't dare take out in the snow last night (freak snow storm here in KC, MO) is Ken's winter beater. Truth be told, I am honored to even own a vehicle that an enthusiast of this caliber would choose to drive at all! It made me feel SOOO much better about the choice I made considering the other options out there that I have not yet seen in person much less driven (I had to get my RS4 shipped from out of state, purchased unseen and undriven). I absolutely love it regardless... but having the decision reinforced doesn't hurt! As a side note I have read that Ken retired, and he is clearly intelligent and excellent with investments... and it looks as though even in retirement he is making wise appreciating investments . I remember reading somewhere late last year that aside from the obvious precious commodities(if even those), rare vehicles was on of the best short, mid, and long term investments to make... as time goes on they increase in value ahead of inflation, they only get more rare, and they are typically desired by those that have enough capital to be recession proof. Sure they may depreciate in drastic recessions, but apparently much slower than everything else... One other thing, in post 349, there is a pic with a fly caught in the ferrari emblem... I am assuming that was on purpose, what is the symbolism there ? Anyway, thanks again for the outstanding shots!!! And where can I order the calendar? I checked nthimage.com...
No calendar. Just was a thought to play around with; but would require a lot more work into it than currently is feasible. At some point there will be one; but not now. Welcome to Fchat, and I'm happy you've enjoyed the photos
Hey Isaac, somebody was wondering which # Hurst Firebird the SOM has, and the approx mileage on it. The inquirer owns #8 out of 9 with 44 miles and is keeping his own little registry
