Its called market research bro. As we type, there are Ferrari guys monitoring the reactions of the people on this board to the spy photos posted.

Im sure that they will base a few decisions regarding the final elements of the cars design on these reactions. One thing everyone should know...u cant trust spy photos. The production car may look similar to the photos, but its still early enough for them to change some key features at this point. We will have to wait and see i guess.

I'll hold any opinions until I see more and know it's the real deal.

It does look a lot wider than F430. That would be a good thing to me.

it looks so much more dramatic and agressive.. reminds me of the 360.. which is a good thing.. the enzo is incredible because it is such a dramatic and insane looking beast.. giving some of those sweeping large dramatic nuisances to the 450 is what I personally like

what I hated about lamborghini is that they stole ferrari's thunder in the 80's with the dramatic and insane countach.. it bothered me to no end.. Even though ferrari still was churning out incredible beautiful machines.. the countach was probably more popular on the poster walls.. I would like to see ferrari have some more dramatic and beautiful lines in their cars.. similar to lamborghini..

the 430 while great looking wasn't as dramatic for me.. the scuderia brought some of that drama back.. but I'd love to see more

    Me to..but only with cover.

So...Some months ago I heard about a 3.5 engine with Direct injection that offer from start 10% more hp, and more fuell economy, and Turbo..so in tests the engine gives 180hp/litre ...630hp. But that will be to good to be true.

I also heard that the engine block will remain the same but with direct injection and all other components new(from piston heads to...every thing else)...so 480 hp+ 10%( at least) = 530.

The big question for me is if KERS will be present, with a boost button just like this year F1 cars.

Some things are clear:-The weight will be under 360's and 430's.
-The price will be higher ...50% maybe..so when it will be announced dont start with ..omg...to muchhhhhhhhhhhhh!!
-One of these cars (F142 or the next hyper-ferrari) will have KERS, or some kind of energy recover system , and turbo!
    -adaptive aero.

The car will be smaller.I saw some plans for future ferraris, where the driver seat will have less or any movement, but the pedals and the steering wheel can be very well moved fwd or bckw to compensate for that. And the test cars seems to be very small inside.Sorry for my bad english.!

The car seems to be wider maybe because is lower.Ohh..and i bet the car will have 2 brake lights not 4. :DDDDDD Somebody wish to bet?( both of the last 2 ferrari's have only 2 brake lights.)

where is my babyoil and tissues?!?!?

Guess Ferrari finally is listening to "not gorgeous" criticism.

Hope Ferrari hears this critique; Luigi Chinetti & the US Market effectively designed the original California...speak and tell them your wishes. You pay their bills

-Snout nostrils need to go; dated 360s flab

-Headlights are struggling: slits fail; look at GT, S7, Vanquish, Murci for cues

-needs to be wider; scale is off

    -roof is egg-domed...needs flatness

-hood is duck bill stubby; chicken beak pointy

-Tail looks like its got 90s enzo baggage; give us a kamm or GTO flip-lip after 20 yrs!

    -Glass is Artega GT knock-off

    -wheels/vents need turbine, fin, blade cues...not exo-skeletal/ribs

    -Hips are Beyonce nice

    -Less R8/Evo, more Miura/Aston 077

Actually, I really like your rendition! It looks like a baby Dino. I like the overall shape...very nicely done. The spy shots that were given seem to have a longer rear, which makes it look more "supercar-ish" in comparision to a Porsche 911 imo.
I would recommend slim down the rear buttress about half of what it is now.

Don't forget the Ferrari Shields. Those help bring out the Fcar

Couldn't agree more with you Pano. I have a feeling based on what Jim and Iceman said on here, that this car will be stunning.

I agree, except the nostrils need to STAY - they are a signature Ferrari cue, dating way back.

But you have to remember something. Lamborghini can't sell a car unless they looked over the top or dramatic. They'd be completely out of business & thats why their is no real creativity & designed at Lamborghini. The cars of the of today are nothing but evolutions of the Countach.

Actually... you're right. Maybe the tail has been lowered so it looks less bulky, or maybe they put an Audi TT roof on an F430 Spider, but in the immortal Jeremy Clarkson's words it looks a bit like "styling by deja vu."

I know that some people will always buy Ferraris...but with the last designs...612, 599, california...and now this...just don't know...Ferrari used to be about peformance and looks...and I have to say as far as performance lots of cars out there outperformed Fcars and when it come to looks well lets just say...Fcars are no longer sexy Italian machines...more like on the fat side of sexy...if that makes sense.

    Well, I quite like it.

I don't think it is just a one off either, look for instance at the round a-pillars, that is an expensive solution with regard to the windshield, nothing you'd do on a 1-off car. The client would have chosen a V-12 platform, not a V-8.

The phtoshops are clearly not done by someone with a thourough understanding of engineering andaerodynamics. The elongated side-vents go way too far back.

I think the overall styling is very interesting, with clues to many Ferrari's from the past. It's aggressive yet elegant. Very purposeful looking.

The Honda is clearly based on a PININFARINA concept that was built for them in the eighties.

Can't wait to see this car with complete bodywork.

Bear in mind the 'pro' looking picture is just a mock-up from the shots they've seen so far of the car in testing. The rear of the car in the mock-up picture looks really vague to me, the rear wheel and arch look mis-sized with each other and out of proportion. I'm not a fan of recent Ferrari's at all but they always seem to get the proportions correct and the actual styling of this new one looks good - definitely echoes the Dino with the shape of the nose and lights and the tucked-in rear buttresses - so I'd reserve judgement until the real thing is revealed.

Ferrari is getting more like American muscle cars ...increasing the displacement with each new model. What happen to the small displacement, high revving LIGHT Ferrari's of the past?
