    I agree with you , Michael , 100000% the GTO is a special car , it´s RED !!!!!!!
I own a 88 white testarossa , but for me a GTO or a F40 will always be RED.

But , please don´t stop sending photos!!!!

I don't think the GTO has to be red. Red Ferrari's are a dime a dozen. Iconic? They are a great period car and hold value but White shows the lines and it looks spectacular. That's a 288 I'd consider buying.

i think in case of a limited production like the 288 GTO, that have all been delivered in red, its not a matter of taste. its about history and originality.
would you like to see the Mona Lisa in a red dress because it would fit better to your carpet ?

I was going to say do you want all of your super models blonde and 5'9 or do you want them to be different?

The history of these cars are definately something but my tastes need different colors. It's still limited. Even more so because it's white. It's still a 288. This era car runs together with 328 and 308's and I think this White one truly stands out in a crowd. People will walk over and talk about it. Unfortunately for the 288 it could be parked next to a 308 and only 1 in 20 people (maybe less) at a car show could tell them apart. Americans are lazy and don't learn about the heritage. They think a Ferrari is a Ferrari. Sad but true.

My favorite f50 of all time is the white one that Japanese collector has. The f50 is fantastic (except the repair bills) and it's my favorite supercar but in white it just jumps. I don't even really like the white enzo that's out there.

I'm a little surprised by your vehemence, Michael. I mean, really?! Had it raced or been driven by a racing hero, yeah, maybe. But the only reason this car is of any interest is due to it's limited numbers, superb design, and wonderful driving characteristics. I encourage the owner to paint it any color he wishes (as long as it's not too garishly overdone), but he'd better drive it. How we forget that Ferrari's aren't about pedigree nearly as much as they're about driving!

Personally, I've long wanted to see a green 288. I think it'd look gorgeous. I'm surprised how much I like the white though. It really highlights it's wonderful lines.

THAT...is the most beautiful Boxer I've ever seen. I've never seen one in white before, but it WORKS.

Apparently the owner (Chris Evans) is having his 250 Cali Spyder (the black one bought at auction, ex-James Cagney) refinished in white too. I wonder if they are somehow 'wraps' rather than resprays, as there is a pic of a 250 GT Lusso at the same garage wrapped in matt black...

i hope, its only a wrap. it does not make any sense, to overpay a car because of his owner-history and the try to make the car unrecognizeable.

Well, if there were 272 Mona Lisa's I wouldn't have had a problem with it. The 288 GTO is something else, but still 'just' a car. Allthough the white doesn't do anything for me.

Well, there's room for everyone in the Ferrari fan club and it's reassuring that we're not all clones of one type or the other.

Thanks for the green 288! :D I was thinking something more BRG than "lime" but I still like it!

    Great shot.
The white TR deserves the C&T's approval card.
