where is the rear intake inlets? are they really going to design a v8 without those? how long has it been since they have? no air intake inlets? makes no sense!

Which, in turn, looks very much like the Gallardo in profile

I agree, it looks like they found a way to take the "boxy" look out of the Gallardo.
    I like it.

Now, lets just hope its smaller than the 360/430

Funny thing is, I always thought the 360 looked like it had some 911 mixed into the design. Now it looks like the 450 has some Gallardo in its design DNA.

I wouldn't get all work up over this spy shot. Very seldom do these glimpses resemble the actual car.

I'm sure the final design has yet to be seen.

I very much like the design and the focus on sexy curves. Moving farther apart from Lambo's creases which is a good business move. I like the design of the G as well but nothing moves me personally as much as a flowing, curvacious shape.

Another good move is its similarity to the 599. Nicely done imo.

They need to go down the road and drag over whoever styled the Alfa 8C to fix this mess.

i like it..juuuuust a little bit..but it doesn't look like a successor to the f430..it needs to look sportier and funner..this thing looks more like a gt car IMO

I get the feeling they are "stuck" and don't know how to get out.

Stick some ground effects on the Maserati GT and it is muh nicer looking than this.

    It would be sooooo easy:

    Maserati GT add...
    Ground effects
    Cool wheels....19"
    6L 600hp V12engine
    6 speed
    superleggera body
    carbon fiber anywhere possible
    mean tubi oem exhaust system
    ceramic brakes

and viola!...trumps just about everything. No one would even talk about Ferrari anymore...:)

Beautiful looking car in my opinion. I have always liked the 355 styling cues more than the 360/430 style. The 360,430, 612, California are by no means ugly cars, but I still prefer the looks of my 355. However, the new style of the supposed 450 looks both fresh and classically beautiful, keeping some of the lines of the current lineage but adding some more sexy curves and proportions.

Hopefully it also will be closer to the 355 in size than the 360/430.

i'm a little skeptical about this being the final design... along with wondering about the air intakes (like many people here) i was also thinking that there really doesnt seem to be much space on the front fender for the shields... i dont remember any ferrari with a lack of space for the shields... which leads me to believe that we may see something quite different from this...

    any thoughts?

they said that about the 360.. which is partially why I bought a 360.. the resemblances to the DINO.. I hope they stay with that..

IMO the dino is one of the classic designs that hopefully with stick around forever for cars.. in one for or another.

That was my point. Several people are saying it looks nothing like a Ferrari meanwhile, IMO there is a resemblance to one of the classics.

yep.. I'm glad you agree.. people seem to forget that ferrari (the original testarossa) the lm 250.. all those pre 80's cars were usually designed to look similar to the 360 etc. sweeping curves.

It wasn't until the BBi and the 80's-90's that the boxier ferrari were on sale..

Now some of my favorite ferrari designs were the less sleek cars..

the testarossa, the 288 GTO, F40 are all classics and fantastic..

but I for one am glad the 360 came around to bring back the curves.. the 430 took the curves away to an extent.. but I am hoping to see them back with the 450 :)

Anyone else see the motortrend pic of the 2010 430 replacement???
Sorry but I can't find a pic yet online.....
It looks like an earlier replacement pic with the air scoops tucked into the car more rather than having a bolted on appearance.. Front end also seems more sleek. HP supposedly in the 560 range and the car shares chassis components with the 430....
I'm liking it better than the 450 picks floating around...
Maybe the dealer can keep my deposit for the replacement after all....
    Tony........

You have to be kidding me.
So then... How do you explain the 911's evolution since the 1960s? Do they lack creativity and design?
What about Audi's integration and the improvement with interiors, reliability, the new 5.2 DFI engine, etc... ?

    Sorry for going off topic.
Cannot wait for real F450 pictures.

I think he has a point. The Lambo cars each look a lot like the previous cars, while the Ferrari's have changed styling dramatically. Think the Testarossa of the 80's to the 599 of today.

As far as the 911 goes, they look the same to me from when they started to now.

I swear if Ferrari introduced the 250 Lusso today, half of you would find a way to shoot it down somehow.

    Too curvy..
    Not curvy enough...
    Too feminine...
    Doesn't look like a "Ferrari"
    Too small...
    Too big...
    Has ugly wheels
    Interior is boring
    Too low
    Too wide
Looks like a Hyundai, Lambo, Audi, Corvette, Honda, Maserati, Mercedes, Aston Martin, Nissan ...HUMMER!!!!

    etc, etc.

The only thing I'm upset about is that it isn't sitting in my garage right now.

I like it...much better than the 430...especialy the rear end. Goes back to the curves of the 360.

But the trim around the front intakes does not fit. And the roof line looks like an Audi TT.

BTW: I have owned a 355 F1 GTS and my current 360 F1 Spider. People walk up and tell me how beautiful the 360 is all the time. People would walk up to the 355 and ask (a) how much did it cost or (b) how fast is it?

Wow - cool to see the reveal in today's Car & Driver. Color is blue. Front looks..."narrower"... than I would have guessed. 550HP direct injection. Navigation. Hood looks like it came off the 599.

    Imagine a F430 and 599 mating.

Time to update this forum's title ;)

    Thoughts?
