The design evolution of this car from the F430 wasn't exactly going to be rocket science. The same vents in the same places sans the haunch scoop now though.

My take is that they are finding out from the 599 that more air scoops in behind the buttresses rather than into the exposed vents as on the 360 and 430. You can see what looks to be some incorporation of the idea on this car.

To be honest, I hope they burn the 360 spare side mirrors and for the love of god update the front vents a bit more than AutoExpress thinks they will.

It really is a smaller car... The California looks like a giant.

I love the curves, and to be frank, many of the examples of other cars this one looks like that have been brought up were either influenced by the 360 or 430. Besides, you can only put so many vents so many places. It just so happens Ferrari hit the nail on the head as to where some of the most effective spots are for engine cooling.

What I'm excited about - performance. Lets see how this car stacks up against the Scuderia... It's an exciting time.

We can only guess what the FINISHED product will look like. For this, we will have to wait.

Now that is one hot mama! I was afraid they'd go all California styling on the new mid-engine car.

At least Porsche has a legendary history of racing & they do in fact incorporate some racing know how in their road cars.

Sorry but I just don't feel their is any fresh design ideas at Lamborghini.

Thanks. Pricing seems too low but I'm not complaining.

Thats the beauty of Ferrari, you never really know what the next new model will look like. We all have an idea of what the next Lamoborghini will look like.

BTW if I were a Reventon owner I'd be pretty pissed.

That "F500" was obviously drawn before the latest spy shots. Got to love the lead time for magazines vs the NOW of the internet.

Wow! Fooled me. The reflections of trees and terrain in the clearcoat made it seem like much more than the typical computer reflection glare.

I hope they start at $200k, I have a feeling it will be much more given the California base price, taking over the entry level position

Judging by the thread in the 430 section this is a non-story which has been outdated by print lead time and superceded by the actual photos in all the F450 threads - thanks for trying

5 liters and greater than 550 shp, now thats more like it. Was all the talk about a F450 a Ferrari head fake or what?

According to the May edition of Car and Driver the base price of the F500 will be 200K and the spider will commamd 250K.Then you add the options and your looking at 250K -300K.....A seven - speed dual-clutch gearbox will be an option.

Thats why I found the pic and article odd??? I have read every post thus far on the 430 replacement thread but I have not seen any reference to the motortrend article. Was it just some overzealous writer or what not....

It just doesn´t make sense to me with a 16 % increase in displacement AND DI to achieve an 11 % power increase.

Also 5 l sound very unnecessary for a brand new model and doesn´t go together with statements that F just can´t go on building bigger and bigger engines...

There are so many cars like that for me.

The 997 Turbo looks sooooooo much better in person then in pictures, along with the 360 and a few others.

I agree I'm more to the 4.5 vs the 5.0 info it does not seem like ferrari will jump that high just yet but the hp number of 550 or 560 sounds about right. maybe 5.0 in another five years after this model comes out but not now. If is true I give up on guessing on any Fcars.
