    What is this plant? I was at Fred Meyer last night and they had a dozen of these plants in hanging baskets. None had labels. The lackeys working there had no idea what they were.

    Nope.... no idea.... guess I qualify as a lackey...

    I know crap about plants... always thought I'd like to know though... seriously...

    People say, "Oh, look at the Ash tree, isn't it full this year?" or "Is that a male or female Ginko tree?"

    I just give them a vacant look and say "Huh?"

    That there's what we call a "Lookin'-at" plant. Ya see, there's three kinda plants in this world. Plants ya eat. Plants ya smoke. And the rest are fer lookin' at. It gave me a headache and tasted like crap. So it's gotta be the third kind.

    I'm confused. I thought fuscia was a color, and that plant is red and blue.

    Firstly, it's spelled 'fuchsia'.

    A hybrid plant named after the guy who developed it, Mr. Fuchs. The name of the colour comes from the plant.

    That is EVERYTHING I know about plants, so I'll go away now.

    Actually, I know one more thing. My wife has a plant in the house called a Clivia. Rhymes with trivia. Apparently it's rare. All I know is you wouldn't BELIEVE the looks you get when you tell someone your wife's clivia is about to open.
