the boxer looked hawt! there certainly were a lot of mitsubishi eclipses at the event...they were not looking so hawt. they do make a bunch of noise though!
How did the brakes hold up? I want to take mine to a track event this year, although I don't want to use up my brakes.
A helmet was compulsory during the -few- 'open track' and 'sprint' sessions, but the day was meant as a driving training day, not a race day. Consequently, the photo's you see were taken during the sessions where you were not allowed to overtake and pace was such that going off track was a relatively minor risk. Apart from the track sessions, there were also braking and drifting exercises that the drivers could tackle. It was great - I learnt a lot. Maarten has some brake upgrades that he can tell you more about. He did say that last year his brake pedal was on the floor after a couple of laps, whereas this year it was a lot better. It was great to see your car on track again, Maarten! Onno
Looks great, would have been fun to see more action video of the Boxer w/sound! Thanks for posting. I take Onno's word for it on safety, but 250km/hr (155mph) on a track sounds like helmet weather to me. The guy who took the stills got some great shots. More pics if you have them! William
Last year with standard brakes was not bad, but at the end off the day the brake pedal was a lot deeper and the brake flued was cooked. The brake got pretty hot and there was fading during the exercises. It is a fast car but olso verry heavy for track driving. But a lot off fun i can tell you!!!! This year i fitted special brake lines fromm goodrich (stainles steel coated one's) and ATE bleu race braking flued. Also fitted FERRODO RACE brake pads and had the disc brakes serviced. As a hole they performed much better this year(also had to brake a lot less because off the things I leard in the past year while driving on circuits) Maarten Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well it was the total number off KM traveled on the circuit was 250KM. The max speed on the main strait at zandvoort circuit with the boxer is about 200km/h and then some late braking!!!!! it is a small circuit. Maarten

If I take mine on the track this year, I'm just going to lift way before the end of the long straight to try to be easy on the brakes.
Sorry I misunderstood, having 3 teenagers in the house must be having its effect. I am afraid everything is dangerous anymore, lol! William H is right, the boxer just looks so good out there. Enjoy it! By the way, if you used your street tires, what are they and how did they work? Best, William
I used my street tires, they are the original Michelin XWX type off tires. The tires with the 15" rims are no match for the modern tires off a Ferrari 430 but as it is the original look i like so much they just have to do the job. Entering a corner with to much speed will get jou in to trubels quickly. Once you get the hang off it and know the limitations its fun to drive the car on a circuit. Maarten
