Dratts! Missed another great event- Congradulations Kevin on putting this together, and Doug for posting. Where's the burn out....
Kevin, what a fantastic turnout! As it turned out...my wife wanted to go to Ikea LAST SATURDAY so I was in Charlotte then...last Saturday's rain screwed up my plans to be at your event. Today we had out open house @ Apex Vintage.
Ask, and ye shall receive... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Di434A0u74M Me thinks Doug is getting more tame in his old age... or he could have let up a bit because of the lady with the baby in the stroller crossing the street.
Awesome CAFE event once again! Thanks, Kev! It was great to see everyone and catch up. A special "thank you" the Chris Carleson for hosting us at his fabulous restautant, "131 Main". Finally, a special thanks to Tim Mullins for having us over to his awesome "garage" and hosting the after-party. You never know what kind if special and unique toys he will have on display. I especially like the "David Hobbs" race car. This one just came off the show field at the Amelia Island Concourse. What a great host and friend!!! That's the Porsche Carrera owned by "RUBINO". He's brought his 360 cab to prior events, but drove the 911 to this one, and parked it on the peripherary with that hilarious notice and the bandaged-on scuderia shields.
I almost wet my pants laughing when we were leaving and you came up with that bar of soap as a door prize. Talk about priceless...
Here's a few of my shots. I worked hard to get shots without people, so didn't take as many as I probably should have. Dang, I wanted to make it down to Charlotte this weekend but I had made previous arrangements to go with some of the BMW crew on a Wine Tour in VA/TN. Looks like you guys had a great turnout. Any Engine bay pics on the Green Lambo?
i'll be posting my pics in the next day or so. i have a lot so bear with me. doug, good seeing you and catching up for a bit, it had been a while!
Thanks, Kevin, for a great event. From start to finish, it was first class and well worth the drive (including the fast run down I-26 with the guy in the BMW 3-series on the way home Sunday.) Thanks, too, to Tim for the after-party. What a garage!
With the support of the participants, attendees, and vendors, CAFE's Third Annual "Motori Italiani" was a huge success! As you have seen in the photos, we had a beautiful show field plus numerous display vehicles from Foreign Cars Italia, Sport Auto, Vespa of Charlotte, and Underground Racing. Special thanks to 131 Main Restaurant for again providing our fabulous location. Also, major kudos go out to member Tim Mullins for hosting yet another fantastic after-party at his clubhouse. Hey Brian, I saw you pull up in your Mini at Cars and Coffee that morning! I was looking for you before I left there but when I got back to where your car was it was already gone. But my S2000 was parked right there in front of 131 Main when I got to the other show. Oh well next time my friend!
Atleast I think it was you, in a red new Mini. Could be wrong though. It was from a distance and I was only working on 1 hour of sleep and a little hungover lol.
Here are my pictures. It's much easier to just link it to the thread that has them all displayed than figure out how to post them on here lol. Let me know what you guys think! http://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=687719
