    Another Ferrari cock-up!

That apart, it was a fabulous race till it was stopped. Lots of overtaking.

Loved the driving of Webber, Trulli and Button. Alonso was fantastic too - battling with a heavy car against much lighter opposition.

Another superb drive by Hamilton - he drove a car to the points from deep in the mid field. He showed lot of maturity and caution when it was required. Truly great performance in a poor car. This guy is really going up in my book. I used to think that we haven't seen the full spectrum of a true great yet from him. By this I mean: 1) Drive at top level car to series of wins and championship 2) Drive in the wet well 3) Drive a poor handling car well above its capabilities 4) Be able to improve a poor handling car 5) Out think the competition 6) Learn from mistakes (yours and others) .....

Hamilton, in my book, had #1 and #2 covered but we didn't get to witness #3-6 in the last 2 seasons. This year I can see significant progress in #3 and #6. This guys is on his way to being another Alonso.

I liked the Webber and Hamilton battle. Lots of over taking from each driver. Webber had a great car today.

I wonder if Stefano is just too young to lead the team. Eversince 2007, the team have been making massive school boy mistakes, particularly the strategy department. I don't care if we lose if the car was slow, or driver error, but, with pit stop strategy mistakes, it just really hurts.

We saw pre season how the Ferrari have been flying. But after 2 races, we have yet to see the true potential of the car. I bet it's fast. It just doesn't have the proper situation to prove it. Look how fast Kimi dissapeared after he overtook Fred. The raw pace is there. But the pit calling department is where they're really screwing up.

You don't need a rocket scientist to tell u that u don't need extreme wets when it starts pouring in Sepang. Sepang is a bit like Spa. Normally, when it starts to rain, only partially of the circuit actually rains, not the entire circuit.

Then, there was Massa's quali problem yesterday. Ferrari today are run by a bunch of amateurs.

Ok, does anyone else feel at least a bit deprived of a great race? Maybe if the stupid troll had started the race at a normal time instead of 5pm local time, there would have been enough daylight left for a re-start.

Well, if the race had started at 1PM local time like usual, they would have gotten in the entire race under dry conditions. I think the racing would have been much better had it been run earlier because people wouild have been racing rather than diving into the pits every five laps for drys then full wets then intermediate wets then back to full wets.......

Well, I'm sure they're gonna revisit that decision. Sepang is notorious for its rain showers and now with a delayed race we have seen what might happen. So yes, I feel somewhat deprived. More so for the Brawn team who only got half the points.

However I do like the idea of late races in Asia for viewers back in Europe and I am very happy that we had a wet race. It creates chaos and I like that.

Absolutely. I didn't mind the changing conditions at all, though. He should have left enough time for the eventuality of something like this happening. The race being started so late messed up what would have been a highly entertaining race. Glock of all people might have just won it.

If they were using Bernie's "medal" system, would that have meant Button's gold medal would be sawed in half?

I liked the wet race as well but I really don't like the late race idea. Especially when there was rain in the forecast for Sunday all week. As far as the viewers in Europe go, screw em. I've been staying up late and getting up early for the races for years...;)

Wrong. They would have discovered that the "medals" were actually foil wrapped chocolate that Bernie's daughter bought for him in 1998 during a visit to Ghirardelli Square.

+1 [Although, Tivo is a truly beautiful thing - Skip the interminable Speed ad's during the "suspension" in the hope they'd get it in]

Bernie rolled the dice and gave us half a show. [Pretty darn good show though IMHO - Formula 1 is not yet "ruined", contrary to many reports ;)]

Remember all the nay sayers during the off season predicting the end of F1 blablabla?

It is more alive than ever with more racing, passing and action.

This is becoming quickly one of the best seasons ever.

Congrats to Button. He seems realllly happy.

sry if someone already brought this up, but: where does the rain water go in an F1 cockpit? Thanks in advance.

Straight into the KERS system. That's what it is here for. :)

I would think there are a few drainage holes in the bottom. Most of it is probably "sucked up" by the driver's suit.

So the car would be heavier with the driver in it.

Gotta be a way to get around weight rules some way. ;)

the silver lining in this reancloud for Ferrari is that only half points were awarded...so SF doesn't fall as far behind so fast.

During the broadcast, the commentators mentioned that the drivers would be especially wet as there were no drainage holes in the cars.

The racing the dry was great. When is the last time anyone has seen passing and re-passing like we saw this morning. Anyone who claims F1 is dead or whatever, really needs to open their eyes. Prior to everything go wrong when the rain started/didn't start/started, the action on track was excellent. Not only has the on track racing been better, has anyone else noticed the world feed has been better. I think we are getting more on-board shots and more shots that really allow the viewer to see the speed of these cars. The coverage of the passing has been awesome.

Also, the more I see the new cars, the more I like them. I am really digging the differences in all the designs and the feeling that the cars are truly different than each other. The cars don't look that odd with the larger front wings and smaller rear wings as I thought they did in the still photos we saw preseason. I never understood everyone complaining about all the aero appendages of the cars in the previous seasons, but now I truly understand the beauty of these cars without them.

    Right on.
Passing is back and with the new regs we have different design approaches resulting in cars that can be recognized in ways other than just by their color schemes.
