That the Shah had a Miura SV (taken out of Iran and now restored to perfection) seems well known. Less known, perhaps, is that he had an early LP400 Countach periscopa.

I am in Iran and I spent part of the morning photographing the Countach. The car seems to be VERY complete and in generally good condition. SN 112.0190, redish color with tan leather. May not have been started for 20 years? Might be a 1974, but I suspect a latter year. Dusty. It seems the Shah's son got it when he was 17 years old. I suspect very low miles.

The Lamborghini registry has nothing on this car. I hope to post some photos when I return to Colorado in late April.

The Shah's family also had a white/black Miura S, but it is hurting unless you are about 30 feet away.

The Lamborghini Registry DOES have this LP400, posted in 2006 and it is rather well-known as Reza Pahlavi's birthday present car. It has been posted on the Countach thread also. This car will not leave Iran and consequently there has been less discussion on it.

The white Miura P400S you refer to is Princess Ashraf's (the Shah's sister) Miura.

These poor cars are in such a sad state of disarray. Ceased by the I.R. as "evidence of corruption" and put on display.

I'm not near my Registry, but I think it's Rosso Speciale.
