Thanks for posting these pics. Was this after it was auctioned (I cannot recall the year it was put up for auction).
Well, that was an expensive paint job Honest, the work performed by Bobileff is superb, unfortunately the car got some chip during transport, one rim is damaged and on the front lid as well. I'll just write the former swiss owner that his car is back.
I discovered his car in a private garage in New Jersey in 2002. I then arranged for it to be auctioned off at the Rockerfeller Center auction put on by Christies the following year... the interior trim remains exactly as the car was found.

Raymond: The USA owner chose to have a company on the east coast do the paint and interior. Bobileff only serviced the car. Best, Joe
Did Gary fix the synchro of the second gear? Paint is still very nice although not done by Bobileff. Emilio S. called me last evening after I sent him a picture, do you know what the car was sold for ? -> PN or email.
This is s/n 4455 The very best S-type I have seen so far! Ciao! Walter Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Walter you're kidding right? It a nice car in general, but chassis and under-body finished in gloss rather than satin, incorrect rear wheels, non-matching front-to-rear tires etc etc...
Raymond: No I was not aware there was a 2nd gear synchro problem, and I should point out that Miuras have notoriously recalcitrant 'boxes until fully warmed, most especially a split-sump Miura. So maybe the 2nd gear resistance you encountered was simply a split-sump cold 'box characteristic that you are not used to. Thats the trouble with you Countach guys, you have such high standards I sold the car in January 2009 and the terms of the sale are confidential. Perhaps the buyer can shed light.
No problem Joe, I fully understand... In my cars (Jalpa and Countach) you can shift 1->2 even cold without problem, let the gearbox get used to it by rpm adjustment by throttle and it will work. My QV's synchros look like new after 52t km.

Enjoyed it the short time I had it, made a few bucks on it as well...then off to several other owners prior to where ever it is now..?
Well i see 5080 also ;-) Nice Car 4455 is in a beautiful condition, but the owner want a fantasy price for that car. Regards Dario
Hi Joe, This was a great question! Looks like you have found one that left everyone looking...such a great piece. If the were abouts are unknown, does anyone have other vintage pictures of the buck? I'm really looking forward to seeing you with the proto chassis at Pebble! P.S. I'm really enjoying your Miura book- thanks for publishing it!
Joe, OK, the wheels are not correct - but perhaps my photo doesn`t show that the chassis & under body are in satin. The paint job on this car is exceptional. Ciao! Walter
Thanks Joe, that was a great get together. Perfect weather, great location... These cars are a blast, getting there was more than half the fun. Couple more photos from the event can be found here http://www.desert-motors.com/cpg/thumbnails.php?album=209&page=1 When to a muscle car party last weekend and met a great bunch of guys. Photos are on this link. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/396272/page/0/fpart/1/vc/1 I liked this shot... reflections of a Miura. Cheers Jim Image Unavailable, Please Login
