I don't had the chance to sample many miles on my new 599 so far, but the few times I used the car I had the impression the
dashboard makes a strange noise like if it is not properly finished. Has anyone here had the same problem or heard about the problem and has an advice how to fix it. Otherwise I have to go to my dealership and they will start the search from zero and build the whole dashboard out. Is it maybe a general problem of the 599 or could be a problem just my car has?

Thanks for any advice and response.

I have never heard of this problem, have hard about flickering TFT displays though. Are you not referring to a dashboard rattle perhaps?

My dad's 599 had some rather irritating rattling noise that was caused by the aircon filter becoming loose. I thought it was coming from the dash board at first, you might wanna check that cause it's easy to do it by yourself.

Yes, rattle is a good description.

Thanks for the response. The noise I have appears to me like the whole dashboard is really not finished solid
and moves a bit with every surface irregularities or when braking and accelerating.
But I will surely check Your advice about the aircon filter. Where exactly do I find them?
Maybe I should say that I have the leather dashboard instead of the carbon dashboard which is also available
    on the 599.

I hate the search for rattles and squeaks within a car and I'm a little bit suprised Ferrari by itself and the
dealer delivers the car to the customer this way as they must have heard that noise too if they drove the car properly.

It's kinda right above the pedals on the driver's side and behind the little red string on the passenger's side. In my case, the plastic cover was loose and it rattled around alot. I think Ferrari doesn't do much quality control, my dad's 599's handbrakes don't work and the tire pressure monitoring system was a little wonky when we first got the car.

Have you already notified your dealer about the problem?

Dont worry the handbrake is an optional extra...;), have never come accross a Ferrari with a decent handbrake.

I notified my dealer about the noise and one of their service technicians wants to make a test-drive
as soon as I bring him the car.

My impression (and fear) is that the dashboard is not fixed properly in the area of the passenger side airbag
or around the air-vents that direct to the window which seems quite a sad problem as they can only fix the
problem by taking out the whole dashboard.
Which I can not exclude is that the rattle may come from the front window hitting the dashboard, but
I still favor the idea that it is the dashboard by itself that has too much movement on the gaps.
Seems quality control is still a strange word for Ferrari as this is my first car in many years that has
that problem, and if I remember right the last one was also a Ferrari.

The whole problem is really sad as the 599 otherwise is a fantastic car.

Once again thanks for any advice or response to help me find the reason for the rattle and
maybe fix it by a simple measure.

If anyone had the same problem and found a solution please do not hesitate to contact me.

I have had 3 x 599 dashes out now and I have yet to hear any complaints before or after and I think I would have if it was a common problem.... I got pics of the dash out if you want one...

Is the whole dash moving or just creaking?

Between my 2 599's I had 5 new dashboards. Never a problem with rattles - only a problem with the TFT. Rattle should be very easy for the dealer to fix

I brought my 599 in the meantime to the dealer. The technician there made a test drive and they think they know where the rattle or noise comes from (at least so he told me): they think the front window was pnot properly built in at the factory; it seems the window is fixed by some kind of gum or glue and that was not executed correctly, so they had to take the whole frontwindow out and fix it again with new gum.
I have not picked up the car until now but I'm looking forward to if that was the cause of the problem as I could swear the noise came from the dashboard, but I will see (or hear).

At least it seems not to be a common problem of the 599 as the response here shows, as not too many cars had that problem until now.

Did resealing the windshield fix the noise?

I picked up the car in the meantime and the noise or rattle is much better but it did not disappear totally.
If I have the chance to drive more with the car I will see if I can live with the remaining rattle that comes
    from the dashboard/windshield.
Anyway, thanks for all advises on the subject.
