    Hi Jack
Lars has already covered this in post #248. I too have bought my 3 copies off Ebay - at about $50 per copy. I guess postage to USA will be a bit more, but I think still less expensive than the Sunscription price.

Thx. I must have overlook it. Now you say it, I've indeed bought it 20 yrs ago... Back then it was ca. 350 guilden. What 'cazy' price are they asking nowadays ?! Also have some Cavalino's stacked here and there from the same period, but most people already have them. Come to think of it, I too have a lmited edition book on Lotus Omega (that's an Opel Omega with Lotus engine) somewhere... What is it worth now ?
    Cheers

    Thanks, Lars and Nathan.

Different subject: What is everyone's opinion as to the best book on 250 GTO? Is there any chance that the 250 GTO book by Bluemel and Pourret will be updated?

I sent a note to [email protected] about subscription details and asking about availability of back issues. I've seen them on US Ebay for about $100 each, that is more than the cost of annual subscription (currently 208.33 euros, about $271.70 ex VAT). Will let you know what I find out.

    Hi Jack
Pourret/Bluemel book seems to be the best so far. I have asked Keith about an update and will let you know what he says.

    Thanks, Nathan.

It would be great if he could update the book with new ownership information, period photos different from those in the first edition, as well as recent photos. That would make an excellent book.

Here is the response. I'm also attaching the subscription form. You can subscribe from Issue #1 (which means you'll have to renew almost right away, after issue #4, which is the current one).

    ***

As per attached you can find the Subscription Form that you have to complete with all your details (please, if you have an address that someone could be sign in case of delivery by courier is better since they don’t deliver to the P.O. Box) and resend it to us by fax or by e-mail.

You can pay using credit card completing the relating part on the Form or using Bank Transfer, with fees at your charge (in this case the BIC code is: UNCRITB1208).

Since we already have issue # 1 at our office, we also need to know if you want to start the collection from the 1st issue or from the first issue available (in this case the 4th one); please indicate it on the Form.

Take note that one year of subscription means 4 issues; so, if you start from the 1st issue, within 31st of March 2009 (since within that date will be arrive the 4th issue) you have to renew your subscription.

If you decide to start with the 1st issue, please tell us if you want that we provide also to the renew from now; it means that you will find on your credit card statement 2 debit of 250,00 euros in two different weeks (the first week for the 1st year of subscription, in the second week for the renew).

As soon as we will receive the Form completed and the payment, we will start to send out your copies of the Magazine.

Also, please, on the Form, give us almost one of your telephone numbers and, please, repeat your e-mail address for any urgent communication.

    Many thanks for your cooperation.

We remain at disposal for any information that you may need.

    Kind regards.

    Tatiana Tassinari

That is correct. Alan, what you are thinking of is that the fourth issue of each year (except the inaugural one) will be the yearbook.

i am pleased and proud to announce the release of a new Ferrari book available in May

it tells the Ferrari story year by year, every year you'll get the details about the cars, the men, the drivers, the races, the championship, the coachbuilders...

you'll get more than 1600 pictures and documents (and even some new pictures never published)

it comes in a slipcase, it is numbered to 1200 copies only and it is already selling fast because the author (Serge Bellu) is a famous french automotive historian

I remember flipping through both those 333sp books at my local store when they were new. I unfortunately passed on both at the time in favour of something else.
The Cavallerias have some spectacular photography and the print quality is top-shelf. I did manage to pick up the issue on the 250 California - one of my personal favourite Ferrari models - and was impressed.
The other by Franzini looked extremely thorough and i thought... "hmmmm, definitly pick that one up later".

    Rats.

also, that French book does look impressive..

thx.. i have that site bookmarked for that and other volumes. Again, i appreciate the help.

Lately I heard /read (forgot where exactly) that there is a forthcoming book on the 250 Europa by Marcel Massimi. Any news on this?

I believe it is for the 250 Mille Miglia not the Europa.
The book is still scheduled for production and can only assume Mr Massini's thoroughness and completeness is the cause of the delay from the original production date. Be patient and I'm sure you wont be disappointed.

The new book from Mr. Massini will be on the 250 MM. I had the opportunity to speak with Mr. Massini at the Nürburgring Ferrari Racing Days in Germany last year.

Other work and research was the reason of delay. Maybe Mr. Massini is reading and can fill in some gaps in this information?

I have 2 books written by Mr. Massini and both are a great read! I'm looking forward to see the next book released!
