    Hi guys,

    Hoping someone can assist.

I need some good quality pics of the F40 air inlet runners (under the main plenums) and throttle system (at the engine end, not the pedal).

I can find plenty of pics showing the general area, but close up detailed pics are very hard to find (ie: I've found none).

    Any help greatly appreciated,

    Thanks,

    Colin

Why are the manifolds different front to back?

They look the same to me? You mean the offset? If so just about every "V" engine has a slight off-set for balance.

Nah, not what I am looking at. If you look, each bank has two different type of throttle bodies.

    I'm just wondering why. :)

I think he's asking about the orange TPS (throttle position switch) that's on the rear of each side, other than that their more or less the same.

Extra casting slug for the electronic idle speed motor mount. Machined on the 5/6 cylinder intake and then fliped around and left un-machined when used for 1/2 intake position. I will post a better photo tomorrow as the intakes are bolted on one.

Sorry for teh late reply....I feel bad that I 'appeared' to have abandoned my thread :(

Much appreciation for the nice pic as well..

I am gathering details to build a large scale metal replica of the F40 engine, and the throttle area of the engine is very hard to get good images of.

Again, thanks for the details. Any further pics greatly appreciated.

That will be a monumental task and I dont know you could do it accurately from pictures! Have you considered obtaining a parts manual for illustrations?

Wow those things are tiny! How small are those TBs 35mms? 30mms? Obviously it makes up for it by having 8 of them so no biggy, but I'm interested in knowing how small they are.

    hi again,

thanks Joe..yep, have the owners and service / parts manuals for the F40, have studied the references for hours, but sometimes it's good to have colour clear pics to get an overall feel for how it all fits together, and what the end result should be like.

Yes, will be a huge task, so not something I can knock out in a weekend in the shed :) A labor of love more than anything...after that, hopefully a TR flat 12 to follow....

    thanks again,
