Two races without two cars evening finishing. Is it me or do we just suck????
For the moment alittle bit, But it's two races in to a season with 18 races in it and know one has ever won more championships than Ferrari. They'll be back in it soon.
Did the same last year for different reasons. Massa came back to nearly win the WDC, Ferrari won the more important WCC. As a race fan, I am really happy to see a car other than a Ferrari or McLaren on the podium. Especially with a story like the Brawn team. This is good for the sport. As a Ferrari fan, I want to see at least one of the Scuderia drivers fight for the WDC, and the team fight for the WCC. But if they do not win, that's OK for me. Its good for the sport that a Ferrari or McLaren do not win as frequently as they have for the last 10 years. Frankly, I would like to see either Brawn, Toyota, or Williams take the WCC, and for Jenson, Rubins, Jarno, or Nico to take the WDC.
Ron, if you really believe the WCC is the more important title of the two, I fear you're living in a little world of your own.
Ian, to the team, to someone like Luca diMontezemelo, or Ross Brawn, Martin Whitmarsh, the WCC is in fact that most import of the two titles. It is what determines the share of TV revenue, and other monetary rewards that help pay for the race team. The WDC is important to the drivers, and to the fans, few fans understand how the WCC affects the team. But if it came down to a driver winning the WDC or the team winning the WCC, I won't be alone in that world. I'll be the company of the names I mentioned. If there is a choice to be made, damn the driver, its the WCC that is important. I do not recall Ferrari issuing a street car for sale that had anything to do with one of its drivers winning the WDC. But I do recall a few Ferraris with markings concerning their WCC's. I believe the 16M is such a car.
It goes in circles, no team stays on top forever, just go look at the history of F1. I remember the old days when the single most important component on a car was the driver, but those days are gone forever. Now, if the Chief Designer leaves, or Aero guy, or Manager - and they were GOOD - that is a bigger hit than 'driver', but let's also face the fact that driving today is NOTHING like it was even 10 years ago. You are strapped in, you don't move, everything is either computer-controlled for you, or it's a simple push-button on the steering wheel. Imagine if these 'drivers' today actually had to shift gears with a clutch and a lever ! Utter chaos !!

we are looking pretty bad, BUT it's only been 2 races and there is plenty of time to turn things around.
You can take comfort in the fact that you are of like mind with a small number of important people. I'm with the millions of ordinary folks.
Zero points for Ferrari in the first two races hasn't happened since 1992. And we all know how that ended... Like a dead fish left to rot on your heater.
'fast' is relative. If it costs time to shift, it will cost EVERYONE roughly the same amount of time (to shift). Not a big deal to me.
These are all professional drivers who have had to do it in Formula Ford and Formula Renault, it's not going to make a difference. You might see the occasional mis-shift in awkward circumstances, but I think it's highly unrealistic to think it's going to make a significant difference, much like your take of the difference on speed.
It's early days yet. Clearly Ferrari are in a bit of a spin, both in terms of race weekend strategy/management as well as overall car performance. I actually think this is good because we'll really see how the team performs under difficult circumstances. The post-Brawn/Schumacher/Todt era is in full bloom. I'm always a sucker for the underdog in F1. I would always wear my Minardi shirt to Friday Practice...and wear Scuderia colours on Sunday. I think this WDC/WCC is shaping up to be extremely exciting.
Ugg.. 92, that was a horrible season, probably the worst F-1 car Ferrari ever made... counting the 312 B3 of 1973... terrible year! I think once Ferrari can get a diffuser going in the right direction thigns should turn around, But Kimi will pretty much be finished up at the end of this season if the car is crap... I think it will be totally de motivating for him... he'll be out at the end of the year.
Agreed on all. Two questions left: a) Who will be Massa's mate in 2010? b) How good will the 2010 Ferrari be? This season is a tax write-off. Kinda like the stock market.

Only we and Force India have nil points. Kimi mentioned today that the F60 is struggling with rear downforce. Still, whenever it rains, the team on the pitwall seems to have brain fades.
Kimi would have had a podium in Australia if he doesn't hit the wall, so the car is not really that bad. We are just not using it to its fullest potential. I see Ferrari scoring at least 5 points in the next race, probably with at least 1 driver on the podium.
One more loss and I'll be wearing a paper bag over my head in Monaco. Look for me in a red Ferrari Tee-shirt wearing the Safeway bag. T1 Row 26....
im betting on a a resurgence that will see us retain our title,and hopefully one of our boys take the other 1 off of Lewis.
ad a) Ferrari will have to settle for a fast Spaniard instead. ad b) Depends on whether the FIA is willing to loosen the restrictions on KERS for 2010.
