Fabulous video! Ive had the pleasure of working with Tiff Needell in a certain famous car for an afternoon, most of which was spent sideways

The concept of bringing F1 technology into a street-bound "Super" Ferrari goes back to the days of Harvey Postlethwaite utilizing the F1 126c racecar's twin-turbo technology for the 288 GTO.

 

Among the faithful it seems to get plenty!

 

Enjoyable video - just put more miles on yours this year than on the F40 last year, Mmmm-kay?

When was that? Been fortunate enough to see it plenty of times here in New Orleans.

 

Clarkson summed up his problem with the F50 nicely, he is not a good enough driver for it !!

 

it says at the end the f1 car does 0-100mph in 3.4 seconds.......

 

Nice vid, I've seen that one before in pieces, but it was worth watching again.

I'm surprised at the very mild 0-100 mph time of 3.0 + 3.4s =6.4s for the 1990 F1 car, which seems to have been understood by most that read it. I'm sure they could've beaten that, although the F50 0-100 mph time of 3.7 + 4.8 = 8.5s is right on track with typical results (and still slower of course than the mighty F40!). That was poor editing, the second row obviously should have read 60-100 mph....

The mid 2000s V-10 F1 cars could do 0-100 mph in more like 4+ sec.

 

If my memory serves the strongest 3.5 engines were capable of 0-100 in 2.7 sec

one of my favorites from the old top gear show and thanks for posting..btw i happen to a HUGE amount of respect for the f50..just happens to be my favorite along with the GTO
