    Hi Leilani and Boudewijn

Not 0616. The 290 MM your granfather had was 0626. This is 0656, the 315 S. See the complete photo on your thread.

    Regards

    Hello Tom,

This is the photo (copyright Finn) of the accident which took place on 23 August 1957 during test days when Bridgehampton became a permanent circuit. The car is exactly the same as used by Arents and De Vroom during the 24 hrs of Le Mans 1957, 0616 I believe.

Clearly not the car raced at Le Mans (0616) : see the typical side vent.

    Clearly 0656 as said "Tom"...

I rest my case, the side vent and the vents on the engine cover did convince me.

Good Morning Boudewijn, Tom and Aardy - thanks immensly for sharing your expertise - and clarifications.

The photo of the wreck took my breath away- Mom has the book by Finn, so will have to wait till i get out west to check the book out in person.

    Respectfully, Leilani

I am Coach I's widow, Julie. I like to read FerrariChat from time to time and I posted this morning for the first time and didn't think of the confusion it might cause by posting under his username. I will start my own account soon so that I can participate in this Ferrari enthusiast group. My husband loved being a part of FerrariChat and always told me the latest news from this community's members. I thought I would see if I would enjoy it as much as he did. This will be the last post under his username and avatar.

Good to "see" you again Julie, this is John from Blowing Rock. Coach was a friend of mine.

I bet we can have Rob alter this account to read "Mrs.CoachI!"

Scuderia Etna entered this Ferrari 250 GT for Grasso-Giordano at the 1961 Targa Florio. Does anyone know the chassis number?

    Cheers!

Here is 0555 fresh off the ship in New York, December 1965, looking a bit sorry. It came off the ship with the Breadvan, also silver and slightly dented and at least one other Ferrari.

Photo by Gary Wales, copyright to him. He was one of my more entertaining interviews in preparing the Breadvan book!

    best regards,

    Marc

    Hello Marc,

Are you co-writing the Breadvan book with Keith Bluemel? At least I've been told that he was supposed to come out with a Breadvan book this year. I'm hoping it will be ready in June. I'd love to buy a copy and give it to a good friend. Thanks.

    Best regards, Peter

    Richard and Peter:

    Thanks for the kind words!

Just for you I placed a call from Burgundy to Minessota (much nicer than all those emails) and asked Tim Parker the publisher what the latest estimate is and so you have one minute old information: the books will be printed July first.

I was indeed honored to co author the book with Keith Bluemel and although he was busy with a million other thing he did his usual superb job. I finished back in late November but books are always long pregnancies though this one is moving a lot faster than the other book I have finished -that one is about cars made in another village 40kms north of Maranello- because my co author for that one is taking his sweet time...and he is probably right!

    best regards,

    Marc
