    Hello everybody.

I tried to find out my answer but i have not found with the search.

My AC fan does not work. The clutch makes a noise when i turn it on but the fan does not work.

I suppose this is not normal.

Could anybody show me a pic to find the fan ? Where is it ? Il would like to put some 12v to test it. Is there a fuse for it ?
What do you advise me to check ?

Thank you in advance for all answers.

    Regards,

    EP75.

There were 3 fuses but they were not damaged with eyes vew.

I would like to test the fan but i did not find it...if anyone could show me a picture to locate his position.

    Thanks in advance.

I'm going to assume that you mean the "AC fan" on the evaporator that blows cold air into the passenger cabin, rather than the "AC fan" on the condensor that blows hot air out to the atmosphere -- if that's not correct. please clarify.

If it is the evaporator fan:

    1. does it run at full speed, but not at any speed below full speed, or

    2. does it not run at any speed?

    Hi all,

Thank you really much to help me.

May be i mistook in my explanation.

I was talking about the fan wich blows cold air in the cabin passenger.

As i can remenber, if i turn the switch (yellow one) there is a fan wich works. Mine does not work any more.

When i turn on the blue one, i can hear a noise coming from the A/C condensor. I suppose it is the clutch.

So i don't know what to check first and i don't have the manuel.

I found fuse next the spare wheele (three) but they seemed to be good. I did not check fuse these in the car (in front the passenger seat).

I wanted to put 12v to the fan directly to test it but i don't now where it is.

So what do you advise me to do ?

    Thanks,

    EP75.

This is a good idea, but somewhat difficult to do because of where the evaporator fan is located (and, since I don't have a 328 for comparison to locate where the wires are, I really can't help you do this). There is a 20A fuse for it that you should definitely check first -- fuse #17 in this jpeg from your OM:

With regard to my other question, the (yellow?) knob controlling the AC evaporator fan speed works in two different ways -- when turned to the maximum position, it closes a relay which runs the AC evaporator fan motor at full speed. At any slower speed, it passes a small current thru a power transistor, which then control the amount of current going to the AC evaporator fan motor. If one of these modes works, and the other doesn't work, this can be a clue about where the trouble lies. If neither mode works, your heater fans use the same ECU to run their motors so you could try swapping those.

PS Go to www.ferrariowners.com and get registered -- you can then download a .pdf file of your OM.

    Merci beaucoup Steve.

I will try the fuse #17.
I confirm you that in all position, the yellow knob does not start the fan evaporator.

    What is a ECU ?

    Regards,

    EP75.

    PS: i registered.

"ECU" is an abbreviation for "Electronic Control Unit" which we tend to call anything with electronics inside. In this 328 SPC illustration, items 31 are the ECUs for the heater and AC fans -- the knobs you rotate to change the fan speed turn a shaft that enters these ECUs:
