How do i multi quote?

This is probably a dumb question, but i freely admit im to dumb to figure it out. I have seen on various posts multiple quotations of other posts. How is this done, can anyone do it or is it just mods / rosso subscribed / etc. Thanks for your help in advance. Also while im at it how do you post a smilie in the body of the text. Another thing i see in allot of posts but again dont know how to do!

 

click on the box directly to the right of the "quote" box in the bottom of each post you want to quote (they will highlight in orange when you do so). then hit "post reply" at the bottom of the page.

You have to put in the characters for the smiley face that you desire.
: ) gets
: ( gets
; ) gets
: D gets

Note: take out the space between characters in the first column to get the result in the second column

I remember when I first joined a forum way back in the day (not this one) I couldn't figure out how to quote. Then I realized how utterly simple it was.

My turn to ask... how do you make a quote within a quote?

Instead of { use [ and instead of } use ]
: ) : ( : o : D ; ) : p : rolleyes : : mad : : eek : : confused : : cool :

If you put a thousand or so in a thread, you can crash a thread, so don't do that!

Awesome! Haha I never knew this. I would hit quote, reopen the thread in another tab and hit quote on the 2nd post and copy that into my first window.
