Ash, I will buy your PS3 for $250. I'll even arrange for UPS to do a pickup, so all you would need to do is package it well in a box. I can PayPal you the money. You said that you will pay back the people who are lending you the money... so if you want your PS3 back, I will sell it back to you for the same price I am paying for it, let's say through June 1st. That way, if you really want it back, you can have it back, and you haven't lost (or gained) a penny... and if you end up not wanting it back, I can give it to my nieces for them to play with. If you want to do that, let me know. Personally, I don't think you should sell your PS3. I think you should find a job on the side. I know it's tough to do that when you are at school, but you have plenty of options before you Here is one http://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/lab/1125198201.html A handyman job, only one day a week @ $12/hr. I am sure they are flexible on when the work is done, and a few hours a week won't kill you. Or what about delivering newspapers, 1 day a month and making $175/mo doing it? http://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/etc/1120679680.html Are you in the East Valley and have a car? If so, these guys will pay you $15/mo to put their magnetic sticker on your car http://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/lbg/1125696297.html This guy is paying $10/hr for 2 hours to move some stuff to a new apartment on Saturday - are you busy Saturday? http://phoenix.craigslist.org/wvl/lbg/1123872502.html Just go to Craigslist and look in the "gigs" section under "labor" - several people per day that need stuff done and are willing to pay. It all comes down to what do you wanna do to get the $$? You've got several options now.
Ash With a day or so left for you to raise some coin, you should spend less time posting here and more time either on the phone rounding up some dough or on the streets snooping out some day labor. Since you were bold enough to make your original post, going into any small business to talk to the owner for a couple days worth of work would be a cake walk. I'll guarantee that if you went to 15 restaurants, you will find at least one in which their dishwasher was a no-show and you would have a job in a heartbeat. Go forth and prosper. Pete
Well, either that or my nieces might like a PS3 But seriously, Ash now has at least 4 options in front of him... sell the PS3, tell his parents and ask for help, do some day labor this weekend, or tell the girl tough cookies and she'll have to wait. Whenever I have a crappy situation, I always weigh the consequences. Honestly, Jerry is right on the money... there is really nothing bad that can become Ash for picking any of the above consequences... so, I wish him well, and if he decides the PS3 is going to go, I will be happy to PayPal him the $$ immediately
Socks are a real racket. Although it seemed an extravagant cost at the time, over the years the decision to tattoo my feet and ankles navy blue has saved both time and money.
Absolutely not. To the idiot here that thinks he WILL do any of that. On a side note, the PSP sale is a great idea. I do that with buddies all the time. I hate lending money over say $50 (Best way to loose a friend) but I will make a deal with you. Last one I did was for $1k. Deal was I gave my pal $1k and he gave me his AR-15. He had 1 year to pay me back plus $1.00 and he could get the weapon back. If not, it was mine to keep. (Sadly, one more $200 payment and he gets it back.....)
Wow, I just want to say that it's easy for tensions to rise and to have a dislike for some on this website (see: F1 section) but it's threads like this that make this the great site that it is. Mike, unbelievably generous offer and the advice given by so many others is far more valuable than any loan amount that could be offered. Imo, working for it is far more valuable than receiving handouts, I fear that it would be just as easy to try to do the same thing (asking for money) should another "I need money fast" situation arrive whereas if you work for it and put in your time, you'll appreciate the money much more while also learning valuable life lessons. I sometimes look at my join date on this website and my low number of posts and wonder why I'm not up there with the others on this site in terms of posts and then I realize that as a 25 year old just starting out in life that often times it's more valuable to soak up information than to ad posts to things you don't know about. Thanks to everyone for making this a great site for any number of topics!
It's probably a good time to take a few steps back so the young lad can learn from everything that has been posted here. With doubting that he's a lazy ass, my guess is that in 8-10 years, he'll own a home, have some money in the bank and will mature ten-fold. It's easy to kick a young person in the teeth for doing things that may not be deemed as 'proper and right', but that all comes to you in life as the first grey hairs start popping up! Kudo's to those that have supported his plight with great understanding and to those that have slammed him, maybe you want to re-think what you have posted and think back to the old days when you were young and dumb! The above is my Friday's $.02.
Got your PM and saw your post... I will reply to your PM seperately, but just wanted to acknowledge here for everyone that you have solved your problem through the wonders of capitalism I am happy to help you out. I will keep your PS3 in good shape and I will stay true to my word, and if you want it back you are more than welcome to give me the $$ back and I will give you the PS3 back. That's a man-to-man deal and I'm happy to enter into it with you. Cheers!
Yea he really wants it back, it's a nice one and pretty tricked out, so it was a good deal all around as I did get to play with it and he got the money he needed and honor was upheld. Happy Friday to you too!
