Anyone else see this on Autoblog...? Now they're saying that Jason Castriota's Project M at Bertone might be based off of the 599 (also designed by Jason). Image Unavailable, Please Login
I don't believe it. I will be in Shanghai for the F1 race, and will try to go to the autoshow to see the vehicle.
Besides the fact that it is a wheel arch, I see no similarity whatsoever. The 599 is fully rounded where Project M is angular. What appears to be similar is that M is a front or mid front engined platform.
I will say this. Based on the Ring Lap Times it will be the fastest street legal super car ever. It will also have the lowest Cx of any street legal supercar ever.
It's been revealed: http://www.insideprojectm.com/ I am fully in awe of Jason Castriota's talent. The guy is, what, 33? He's already done the Ferrari 599, the Maserati Granturismo, Napolis' Ferrari P4/5 and now this ZR1? Amazing. Love it or hate it, I think there's a lot of elements to this design and Jason's voice to be seen in our collective automotive future. He's made quite a statement here. Vive Bertone.
Looks great! I love the wheels. Looking forward to seeing where this goes and what Jason will be doing in the future.
I wanted to like it.........but I don't. Some interesting concepts incorporated, but all together much too busy. Definitely not a P4, or even a P4/5. More like a no-holds bared school project. Better luck next time. Tritone
I don't know why bit it feels like they kinda copied off your car, even though it looks different.... Is that weird?
As you may know, Jason is the same guy who did Napolis' P4/5 when he was at Pininfarina. I see a similar "voice" in some of the lines but it's a totally different look to my eye. I kinda like that some are put off by this! It's definitely a complex glass of wine here and polarizing its audience is cool. It's WAY outside the homogenous sports car designs for the masses. Regardless, like some of his other works, I think this might be a design that needs to be appreciated in three dimensions to be fully taken in. My guess is that elements like the perforated venting and grill, the aero-arches on the haunches (first seen in his 599) and other details will find their way into the mass market design language in time.
its that guppy fish looking rear end...it almost looks like it has 2 front ends...its a car that you like because you have too...but your really not sure you love it
