That sure is a nice museum piece. I wonder if someone will ever buy that car and drive it.

Must be #002 given there is no mileage, but it looks like location where #003 lives (003 has been driven on the track). I think $4mm is too much, but it only takes one buyer...

    Dear Sir ,

This is the Ferrari 250 'Pontoon' Testa Rossa I had with me in Bahrain the last two weeks for the event I put on with the Crown Prince. VERY privately to you, the car is for sale."

I was in Bahrain at this event with P 4/5 and Dino Competizione. Mark Ketchum organised this event not him. Mark brought a TR that was for sale via Mark not him. I don't recall "Favero" being at Bahrain at this event. The following post speaks for itself.

"Before even remotely considering sending "deposits" to any person who represents themselves as a dealer, be certain that you have checked their background and spoken to reputable sources who have conducted successful business transactions with that person.

We know the TRUE owners and location of these cars (1963 Ferrari 250GT SWB #4037 GT, and Ferrari 250 TR #0742 TR). Neither car is located at Mr. Favero's facility. (The 250 TR is located in Germany and Mr. Favero very decidedly did NOT take that car to Bahrain to show it to the Crown Prince last week.) Mr. Favero is not the agent for either car or can even show them.

In December 2007, there was a listing for 1962 GTO S/N #3851GT. We personally spoke to the TRUE owner of this car (http://www.barchetta.cc/All.ferraris/meeting-at-cmr/058-fabrizio.html) - and it was NOT being offered for sale.

I can't find this exact one. I don't think its on this computer but here's a different photo from the same set. Note the stone floor, desk behind the car, unique wall and F50 case

What do you think is photoshopped about it?

I am guessing this pic was taken in Light Auto 1 in Nagoya, Japan. Looks familiar as I was there last week. Crashed in in my flip flops, expecting to get kicked out. But instead the nice salesman took us around :). No F50GT1, but there was a dark blue Mclaren F1 :D

What proof do you have to make a statement like that?

Blue? Are you talking about the Mclaren GTR or a road car? Was this it?

Thanks for clearing that up Chris.

The image in the Ad looks highly photo-shopped on my monitor (perhaps I should get a better one), and as originally suggested by Gregmour, the Ad and the source of the Ad are suspicious at best.

If this car were up for sale, it would not be long enough to reach the forum and be discussed, there are far more people with the £/$ than there are F50 GT, I can vouch for two...

    Just my opinion.

Why was #003 on the market for so long? Oakfields had it for the longest time before it finally sold. There are a lot of people with big money out there, but far fewer that would spend that kind of change on one car--especially if they don't even like cars like that.

Or a car that is basically only legal and driveable on the track...that's a lot of money for a track only car, collectible or not (I love this car).
