Say they run the Cali against next year's new 998 coupe. Which wins? I say the Porsche, but feel free to disagree.

How can you decide if it's next years 998? It isn't out to make a desicion, but it would have to be something special.

wouldn't Cali vs. 998 Cab be a more legitimate comparison?

    I agree.

Also wouldn't the 998 CAB be a soft top? I don't think there is room for a hard top.

What can you actually stow in the front boot of the 998?

I don't think even the 998 coupe would be a sub 4 sec 0-62mph car.

Am I missing something? Thought I was pretty up-to-date on car news. When did they reveal the 998 / next generation Carrera?

Aren't spy shots of a new 911 a bit of an oxymoron.

Porsche is really careful about not changing the shape of the 911 much.

They really went wild when they introduced a different 'fried egg' front headlight shape a few years ago.

But then they got an earful and reverted back to the traditional oval shape.

there are too many models in 911 to compare.

If the base 998 has less than 380hp, then Cali should have no problem.

If you pick the GT3 version to compare, then Cali will have no chance at all.

The next generation 911 Turbo Cabriolet would be the fair comparison (both in terms of price and performance).

...but I still don't understand why we'd want to compare an existing car to to a future model...
