I was wondering what the folks that get FML thought about the recent article on P4 history? I like how they did the article using first source material as best as possible. It will be interesting IMO to see if Gerald gets any comments back on the article on errors/disagreements from his readership and publishes them as he is good about doing.

    Very interesting Article.

RE: SPA 1967 I think the last sentence should read "finished fifth" not "won".
(412 0854 finished 3 OA in this race)

In the 1000 kilometer race at Spa-Fran-
corchamps the lone Ferrari P4, driven by
Scarfiotti and Parkes, finished fifth overall.
Again, the long-held belief was that this car
was 0858, but the factory records do not
give this victory to that P4. Instead, it was
0856 that won the Belgian race, and again
the photographic proof appears to confirm
    this.

    "Gerry is a trained historian."

    Yes I agree.

Too bad he taught history at Auburn and not Alabama. :)

There are a few other errata in the FML Ferrari 330 P4 article ....
Probably the 'classic' error among them being the one on page 3, towards the bottom.
To the right of that paragraph is a B&W photograph, captioned as follows:
The photo clearly shows Jackie Stewart driving the second-placed #6 P4.

I would like to go on record as querying not only the author's abilities to proof read ....
.... but their ability to correctly identify what they refer to, more than once, as 'photographic proof'. ;)
