This has been a discussion point for many of us over the past few months. Some don't think that having our license plates visible is a big deal. Here's a great solution with plenty of heritage... www.provaplates.com LS
Lash, someone just told me last week that due to privacy laws access to this information from a plate number is no longer accessible. Anyone know for sure on this topic? Jon in Delaware
That why I always block the plates of all the pictures I post. Most, if not all people who post pictures on the web, don't do that. I think the Prova plates look great! Bill
Really? I can access all the tag info while driving down the road, eating a donut in about 10 seconds....
As a LEO, you better.....as 'Joe Citizen', I would think license plate 'lookups' on the internet are not permitted. Thus, catching somebody's plate digits on the internet isn't traceable to the car-owner's home address or other personal information. Methinks REAL LEOs would have a big problem with scam artists being able to commit Identity Theft from license plate tags, and do something 'real' about protecting that information from the general public. If that's not happening, I have another good argument in-court as to why I shouldn't be forced to wear a front tag on my car...
I wonder if, instead of mounting it with screws, if magnets could be glued to the back of the Prova plate and just stuck over the existing state license plate temporarily while the car is parked at a car show. That way, it would be a really quick and easy on/off operation. Hmmm... I may have to buy one to give it a try.
I just ordered the plate / TShirt Combo. Free shipping too! Ron, LMK if you want to work together and try and figure out the magnet idea. I have a feeling that there are going to be a bunch of Ferraris in the MAR sporting PROVA MO 49.
Hey Ron, Wouldn't you be worried that some joker might try pulling them off if they're only held on by magnets? By the way some of the people treated the Ferrari's at last week's Spring Thaw, that would make me wonder. You would have to make it look real good so it doesn't look so easy to take off. Bill
Yes, some interesting questions there to consider. Do you think they'd make a personalized prova plate? Maybe like this one? Image Unavailable, Please Login
anybody that would do that wouldn't even know what they are. heck they are only $25 anyway. Lunch cost quite a bit more. i'm in for a couple.
Doesn't that defeat the purpose? I bet people would try to steal them just like the tire valve stems.
They are working on a quick attachment solution...talked to them today. I am going to use the plate on my track cars at Summit and for a/x events as well.
Lashss - Thanks for posting this thread. I won't be posting anymore pictures of car's without first blocking out the license plates. Sorry everyone! Got the plates today! Michael Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks LS. I know this is a bit late for this thread, but wanted to share this photo from the Ferrari Museum in Italy... Image Unavailable, Please Login
LMAO - I just had a vision of a cop funraiser where 10 LE officers are sitting at the contest table to determine how many donuts they could consume in 10 minutes...Like the hotdog and oyster eating contests you read about. And the winner is: ROBBIE Let me know if you organize an event, I'd like to attend and make a contribution (or side bet).
