LOL! You beat me to the comment about the end plates!! Actually, they are one rotation away, not exactly upside-down. Grooves should be horizontal.

Im sure those are 45 DCOEs. I mean, who uses 42s on a Countach? They should be horse-whipped, er, I mean bull-whipped ;-)

No he said 356 bhp and if thats with a boxed muffler 375 bhp is about where he will be on the road with an open exhaust.

And we know they love to "upgrade" in Italy. Ive seen all the Miuras restored there with Countach 'upgrades', LOL.

Im not sure about those rubber fuel lines he is using though :-0 Thats kind of a downgrade!

And is it strictly correct for you to have the "Lamborghini" logo filed on the cam covers of an LP500S? Hm?

LOL, You are right. However that was the least of my problems and an easy fix for my engine, as compared to everything else. Vic

The end plates look correct in this photo unless I missed something. The end plates have slots on one side which from what I thought go up so if you remove the cam covers their studs can just slide out without total removal of the end plates.

    Alex,

    356 hp or 365hp?

i see it is on the box muffler and not fine tuned

imo the car will have over 380 hp with the ANSA and the carbs tuned :)

I spoke with Giancarlo, the owner of the shop (and authorized Lambo service center a stone's throw from the factory - 4 km away and he will send me a picture when it was on the dyno next week.

The car is now in the body shop having the glass installed.

Last week when I stopped by Giancarlo's shop I met Fabio Lamborghini - that runs the Lamborghini Museum - not the one that is part of the factory and Mr. Pollachini the body show owner that did all the pearl Countaches, the 30th Ann. Diablos, (also the first 130 Bugattis) that is one of the leading restores in the area. Calling is a body show is a little downgrading - 180 workers, did all the Ducati superbike replicas, all the special color Maseratis and Ferraris, etc. -
The last picture was taken in front of his shop (with Emilio inside my CT)

    - Magnetti Marelli is about 10 Km away, Maranello is 30 km, Maserati about the same, too may otehrs to list - it is truly "the land of motors" as they call it.

Funny is that Giancarlo wasn't amused about my Ignition set up he had to install in a LP5000s of a german client and now I see a LP400 with single distributor...

Joe, my mechanic is doing the gearbox job, I can only help him but have no time, racing season begins tomorrow...

the car made this output with 45 DCOE, an old boxed muffler and pretty lean

i personally do not think the 45 make so much more power than the smaller carbs on the 4 liter, at least not on a stock engine (if you talk with both top lambo mecanics here will tell you the same)
otherwise i am sure the "special" engines, with hot cams, exhaust etc... benefit from the bigger carbs

as Joe said, this 400 will make easily 375 hp with the sport exhaust and properly tuned

again i think these are good numbers

It all depends on which venturis are fitted to the 45s. The "setup" of Weber carbs means everything in terms of performance and driveability. Merely substituting the larger 45DCOE for the 40DCOE would give the potential for more horsepower but without a more free-breathing engine would probably run best with the similar "setup" that it had on the 40s.

    Probably little difference.
