I note that you are in Ontario. How do you address the daylight running light requirement of your Province in a 308? Do you drive with your headlights up all day long? Just curious. Thanks and Welcome to the 2Vi "brotherhood" - DM
This requirement doesn't apply to the older cars. It is only needed for cars newer than 15 years old I believe.
The rule for daytime running lights only apply for the later model cars that are equipped at the factory to come on automatically. Older cars don't fall under that rule. Not sure what year the law came into effect. However, new cars with pop up headlights have fog type running lights, usually placed under the bumper that come on during the day. Something close to the 328 setup.
Yes, this is the car that Brettski & crew performed the major service on. Excellent work and his shop rate is the best. Valve adjustment, water pump, belts, tensioners, plugs, wires, fluids, fuel lines etc, etc. Pretty cool plenum hose too. Looks a lot better than the rubber one. The 2 valve injection car is a lot quicker than I thought it would be. I am planning to replace the wheels with standard 16" in the next week or two.
16' wheels make a big difference (I had an 84 QV with 16's). The engine bay looks quite different from when I saw it at Brett's. Where did you get the carbon pipe?

Ahhh .... my old girl looks good although my shop looks empty without a prancing horse. Anyhow, glad to see she is in good hands. Brett and Larry are two stand-up guys. Still looking for a decent red/tan QV to replace my old 2V but with the Canuck Buck is still in the toilet compared to the Greenback, I am having difficulty fighting the urge to open up my wallet. BTW, daytime running lights are a non-issue in Ontario for a car of this vintage, however, the law enforcement establishment insist on hanging a license plate on the front:-( Cheers-Ontario Canada

Wonderful Gottis. 308s just look "right" with 16" wheels. Anything larger and it just throws off the proportions IMO.
Not mine, the pics are though Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Dunno if im doing the right thing but i was at the local autocross event a couple of weeks ago and came across this so called 308 on top of a pontiac fiero chassis aaaaaaand powered by a corvette LS engine.. The owner said it was originally fitted with a pontiac V6 engine and that Ferrari sued them at the time or sth. Its just so interesting how people are trying too hard to fake things. P.S. that little formula car behind the fiero 308 LS3 or w.e. u might wanna call it is our FSAE car for this year Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The fake 308 was actually first done by a Michigan company called Corporate Concept Limited. The vehicles were sold through select Pontiac dealerships. In their original information, they actually said that the car's lines were completely original. Ferrari of course did not think so, which led to a lawsuilt. And of course Ferrari won. Since that time, many other oppurtunists have made molds of the Mera body. I believe that less than 300 of the Meras were made. We even have several F-chat members that own both Meras and Ferraris!
